Becca's POV
That was the most meaningful speech Luke ever said, it was so sweet and memorable and loving and... Words can't describe how I feel right now. It is just a small little game of truths but what Luke told me is wonderful.
"I love you baby girl," Luke smiles. I like when he calls me that, too.
"I love you too," I smile and hug him. Nothing can put me in a better mood now. Unless... My smile falters and I pull away from Luke, searching his eyes for any trace of a lie or disbelief.
"What's wrong?" Luke asks, furrowing his brows as his eyes scan over my upset expression.
"You're not just saying that, are you?" I ask.
"No, Bec. Why would you think I don't love you? All of that was 100% true, I swear. I love you so much. You're the most beautiful woman I know, that won't change. Becca, tell me why you don't believe me?" Luke says.
"I just don't feel that way about myself, you know?" I say so Luke nods. "I... I'm sorry, it just crossed my mind. Thank you though," I say. Luke nods and pecks my lips softly, lingering there a second or two.
"So um, my turn. What is your opinion on Paramore?" Luke asks.
"Best band ever!" I say, smiling. Luke chuckles and nods. They're not literally my favorite but I love them so much. "Out of the boys, who do you think is the best looking?"
"I'm not gonna turn gay, not even for you," Luke states, so I giggle like a school girl who's drooling over the new exchange student. I raise my brows and wait for him to answer, "I gotta say Calum."
"Nice," I nod. Luke and I play truths for a but more than two hours, but we stop soon because it's late and we are tired. He and I trudge up to our room and crawl under the covers. I toss my arms over Luke's torso, as does he with me.
"Goodnight love," He whispers.
"Goodnight Luke," I say just as softly. I drift to sleep and dream about the beautiful speech he just gave me.
At 9 exactly, I wake up. I frown a little because of the withdrawal of Luke's arms from my waist but he is just in the bathroom, so I smile again and stand up.
"Morning love," Luke smiles and spits in the sink (he was brushing his teeth).
"Morning Luke," I respond and pour a pill into my palm. Once it's swallowed I brush my teeth and pull my hair into a messy bun.
I pull a white sundress out of the closet and slip it on in the bedroom, along with a pearl necklace. I don't know why I'm all dressed up like this but I want to go shopping today. "You look cute," Luke grins, swapping his clothes for some jeans and a black graphic t-shirt.
"Thank you," I grin right back. Luke chuckles and walks downstairs. I walk into the bathroom to look in the mirror but then I remember that the side I'm facing isn't reflective... It says You're Beautiful in big, cursive, black letters. I exit the room, heading for the kitchen on the floor below.
Luke is in Pete's room, holding him. I noticed when I walked past the door, but I grab the bottle of orange juice and pour it into a glass. I sit down at the table and stare out the window across from me. In a couple minutes, Luke enters the room and places Pete carefully in his high chair and hands him the bottle from the fridge, then he kisses the top of my head and sits beside Peter.
"What do you want to do today?" Luke sighs, keeping his vision trained on our son.
"Well, I'm gonna go shopping later. Maybe at 12 or so," I say.
