Becca's POV

"I love you, Luke," I whisper the next morning.

"I love you too, baby girl," He whispers, pecking my forehead softly and slowly. We are both dressed and ready for nothing but we're laying in bed together, Luke's thumb stroking circles in my back. I wish he'd hold me tighter, but I know that he is afraid he will hurt me if his grip tightens ever so slightly. Truth be told, it would soothe my constant aches. His gentle, warm fingertips on my skin is like travelling to heaven and taking a picture to save for later. Because the feeling never goes away, unless Luke does. And he told me that it'd never happen again.

I'm doubtful, though. I can't even count how many times he said to me that he promised he'd be there "next time". Every single time he told me that he swore he'd save me, that he'd never leave my side, he did. He broke the promises that I trusted would be kept. I love him, don't get me wrong, but I feel like I can't hold on any longer if he tells me that one more time. I'll have to see it to know that it's true and not once has he proven he'd be there for me for eternal lengths as he promised. It scares me.

"What're you thinking about, Becca?" Luke asks quietly.

"Nothing," I shake my head. He tilts my chin so that I'm staring into his eyes as is he mine, and I can see that he is waiting for an explanation.

"Is something wrong?" He asks. "Did I do anything to you?"

"No, I was just...Away with the pixies. I'm okay, I promise."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. I am sure."

"Okay."

We lay still for a few minutes, and then I go downstairs to Pete's bedroom. He is sound asleep, cuddling his plush penguin like there's no tomorrow. I smile down at him and sit on the rocking chair in the corner of the cramped room.

"Want to get some Arby's for lunch?" Luke smiles, poking his head in through the doorway with brows raised in a cute way. I chuckle at his adorableness.

"Yeah," I nod. Luke nods and goes to the kitchen, and I hear him rummaging through the refrigerator. He's always hungry and I don't know how he can work up such an appetite.

In about half an hour, Luke and I drive up to Arby's. We decide to eat there rather than taking it back to the apartment.

"This place brings back so many memories," Luke sighs, looking around at the perimeter of the building.

"Yeah," I nod. Luke and I share a smile and then we eat our club sandwiches and sip on Dr. Pepper.

On the way home, Michael calls Luke. Luke and I invited him to our house over the phone an she obviously agreed, still excited that Luke's back from his month long trip to California.

...

"Yeah, see you later Julie!" I holler when she drops me off back at the apartment. Luke invited the rest of the boys and I went out to Julie's house with Kristen and Harmony, too. Brooke went to the apartment with Ashton to accompany Luke, Michael, and Calum.

I go inside and hear Green Day blasting through the television speakers so I assume Mike hooked it up. He's good with technology and loves video games. There is a rich stench of alcohol in the kitchen and about 6 beer bottles are on the table. They must've each had one or two.

On the couch, Ashton is passed out and he is laying on top of Michael like he was the last time they were drunk, and the time before that.

"Heeeeeyyy babyyy," Calum screams from behind me and I hear him stumble toward me. He must've mistaken me for Kristen.
