It was three days after the prom night. Three days after the night disaster happened for some and happiness came to others.
It was weird if you thought about it.
Jacqueline and Don were finally happy. They were finally free to tell each other what they were really feeling. They were in love. But they were both scared too, because they didn't want to ruin the friendship they have built all these years.
On the other hand, Elaine and Mark had their little dreams crushed. Elaine imagined a perfect life with Douglas, but him turning out being a drug dealer, really caught her off guard. And Mark hadn't imagined his whole life with Jacqueline, but he really liked her. You could say he even loved her. And seeing her kissing Don, really hurt him, after she assured him there was nothing going on between them.
Tim didn't even go to prom. He knew nothing yet. But later on, everyone is going to wish it could stay this way.

Elaine was sitting in her room. She was a mess, since she learned about Douglas.
She wanted to tell someone about what she learned but right at that moment she couldn't trust anyone.
Not even Jacqueline. Not Don, not Tim. Nobody. The only person she could talk about what she saw was one. And that was Douglas.
She opened her phone and searched through her contacts.
Douglas💞
It was weird seeing it now. It felt different. That emoji didn't belong there anymore. There wasn't supposed to be any emoji there., next to his name.
At least her father, Travis Jenkins, chose the right time to leave her, this time.
He always left working probably. Elaine didn't even know what he was doing anymore. What job he was doing. Nothing. But right now, she was missing her mum.
Elaine was never talking about her mother. She was afraid to do it. Her mother died when she was only 12 years old. At first she was very upset, but one day she started pretending like she was never in her life, just like that.
It was painful for her and everyone understood why she was doing this.
But right now she just wished she could be here, alive. She wished she could help her get through this. But she wasn't and she had to suck it up, like every other time. She was kind of used to it by now. It had been five years. Her mum was dead and she had to suck it up.

"Mum, I'm leaving!" Jacqueline yelled ready to get out of the house.
"Alright, honey. Have a nice day!" her mother yelled back.
"Bye Nathan." she waved at her brother who was in the living room and left the house.
When she arrived to school she searched for her friends. She spotted Tim sitting on a bench with Mark. She knew going there was probably not a good idea. But Jacqueline was not good with ideas.
"Hey guys." she smiled.
"Oh, hey Jacque." Tim waved back.
"Jacqueline." Mark looked at her "I should probably go. See you later dude." he said and left.
"Wait wh-" Tim tried to say. But Mark was already gone. "What happened?"
"Don and I are together." Jacqueline explained "I was going to tell him with a nice way, not to hurt his feelings, but he saw us kissing."
"He really does like you." Tim said "He loves you."
"I know." Jacque sighed.
"Well here goes Mr. boyfriend." Tim made fun of Don, changing the subject so Don couldn't hear.
"Shut up, Tim." Don laughed.
"Wait where's Elaine?" Jacqueline asked "I haven't seen her since prom. I though something happened between her and Douglas and since she called me but I didn't answer, I gave her some space but that's enough."
"What are you going to do?"
"We are going to her house." she motioned for them to follow her "Come with me."
They left the school building and started walking to the school's parking lot. They all jumped inside Don's car and left for Elaine's house.
When they arrived they knocked on the door. "Elaine! I know you're in there!"
Elaine wasn't in the mood for chatting, but she knew her friends weren't going to give up that easily, so she went to the door and opened it slightly.
"What is it?" she told them.
"Elaine we're worried about you." Jacqueline explained, looking worried.
"Stop worrying I'm fine."
She was about to close the door but Don slid his foot inside and kept it open. "Let us in." he said.
"Fine, whatever." she gave up and opened the front door "Come on in."
They talked for hours, trying to get Elaine's mind off of whatever was making her so upset but Tim had enough.
"What happened that night?" he asked. "I mean except from you two confessing your love to each other or whatever." he motioned to Don and Jacqueline.
"It was nothing really." Elaine tried making it look like she didn't care. "It is just Douglas and I, it wasn't getting anywhere." she lied.
She wasn't ready to tell them the truth. It was too harsh, she couldn't do it yet.
Hello my beautiful people!
I hope you liked the chapter. Please tap on the small star down there to support me because I really need your support. My school exams are almost over and summer is here so there are going to be more updates. Actually I'm going to try uploading every two days if possible.
But I still have one more subject, geometry. And then my time will be free again.
Thanks for reading!
