Five//The call-back

The ring tone of Elaine's cellphone interrupted Jacqueline's peaceful sleep.

Elaine was still sleeping, so Jacque decided to check the caller ID and it called 'Douglas'.

A huge smile formed on Jacqueline's face.

"El! Wake up!" she started screaming. 

"Get the fuck out of my face." Elaine murmured and Jacqueline rolled her eyes.

"Douglas is calling you." she said in a sing-sang voice.

Elaine shot up from her bed and grabbed the phone from Jacqueline's hand picking it up, clearing her throat. "Hello?" 

"Oh hey Douglas!" she said in a happy voice, pretending to be surprised.

She was good.

"Oh, yeah it's okay." she laughed a little.

"Oh tonight? " she asked "Yeah, yeah of course! I'll text you the address."

"Okay, bye. Bye Douglas." she ended the call. And she kept looking at he phone, writing something.

"So..?" Jacqueline asked.

"I have a date tonight!" she said excited "Oh my god! What am I going to wear? How do I do my hair?" she started panicking.

"Don't worry girl. I got ya!" Jacqueline said. "Where is he taking you?"

"BJ's" she referred to a restaurant that was out of town.

"Classic choice." I commented.

Elaine was ready. And she looked absolutely gorgeous.

She was a wearing simple black jeans with a white crop top and had light make up on.

If Douglas wasn't impressed tonight well he was a complete idiot, or so Jacqueline thought.

Elaine's phone vibrated and she checked it. "He's downstairs." she smiled.

"Go girl! I'm going to take my things and head home. Have fun and call me when you come back! No matter what time is it!" Jacqueline squealed and hugged her best friend.

"Okay! Bye Jacque!"

"Bye." she said, picking up her things and heading home.

As Jacqueline was walking home, Don had called her and said to go to his place, and that he was with Tim.

And after a while she was sitting next to the boys in Don's room "So where's Elaine again?" Tim asked.

"For the millionth time! She's at BJ's with Douglas!"

"I knew he'd call her back!" Don cheered.

"Is that a good thing? From all we know Douglas could be anything! A rapist, a psycho, a kidnapper, a drug dealer!" Tim said furious.

"Well I guess we'll find out right now." Jacqueline said and showed the boys her phone.

It was vibrating and the caller ID was 'El'.

She picked it up and put it in open speaker. "Hey gurl!"

"I just got home! It was amazing Jacque!"

"Tell me everything!"

"He apologized for not answering his phone. He said it was broken and he didn't have a phone all this time. He asked if I called him." she started saying.

"Of course I didn't say I called him like a billion times. We ate and then we took a walk around the town. Then we sat in a bench and guess what?"

"He kissed you?" Jacque squealed.

"No.." she said "But it can happen on Saturday since we have a second date, and guess what!"

"What?"

"He remembered you and he said you can come along if you want." Elaine told her and she stared at Tim and Don who were silent this whole time.

"Ugh, I don't know El.  I'll text you later. See you tomorrow."

"Bye." she greeted and ended the call.

"See? Nothing bad happened." Jacqueline said.

"..yet." Tim corrected me.

"Whatever, can you give me a ride home?" Jacqueline asked him.

"Let's go, it's late anyways. Bye dude." Tim answered and grabbed his car keys.

"Good night."

"Bye guys. Goodnight."

The ride home was filled with a comfortable silence. Jacqueline was looking out of the window and music could be heard from the car radio.

After some minutes they arrived at Jacque's house.

She opened the car door and got out. "Thank you Tim, see you tomorrow."

"Good night."

She closed the door and opened the front door of her house.

All the lights were open signaling that everyone was still awake. "Hey, Jacqueline." Carol greeted. "Where were you?"

"At Elaine's, didn't Nathan told you?" she asked her and Carol looked at her.

"Oh yeah! I totally forgot." she responded, acting kind of weird.

"Mum? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine sweetheart. Go get some sleep." she orded and Jacqueline did as she was told.

That was weird. Something was up. But Jacqueline was going to learn it eventually.

Now she had other things to think of, like what she was going to do with the prom or if she was going to go to the date.

Probably it was not a good idea.

She was going to figure everything out tomorrow morning, talking with her best friends was always the best solution.

It's weekend and that means I'm updating!

I know I last updated tomorrow, but I noticed that whenever I update my views in every chapter are growing, so if the key to make this story a little better is to update more I'm willing to do it.

This chapter was kid of small I know. But as I said some chapters before, these are filler chapters that help you get to know the characters, they help me keep you in cliffhangers, and they also help Elaine get to know Douglas better. So be patient the good things are coming.
