After Tim's death, Douglas' house was super quiet.

Douglas and Jack got rid of the body by burying it, in a forest near the town. Elaine went there too, to say her last goodbye.

Now Douglas was more calm than ever, since Tim wasn't going to ever wake up and tell everyone what had happened. It was after all, very convenient for him.

And the best thing was that he had a reason to force Elaine into staying with him.

It was the perfect plan.

Jack was not at his best. HE was feeling down mostly because Elaine was very sad.

Elaine was spending most of her days crying in her room. After Douglas told her she was going to stay here for good now, since he didn't trust her enough to let her go out there.

And then, a week after Tim had left them, Elaine decided it was the right time to get out of her room.

She slowly opened the door and found herself in the living room, in front of the two men.

"Elaine." Jack muttered. "How-"

"Come here love." Douglas interrupted "Come sit with us, we ordered pizza."

Jack decided to ignore the fact that Douglas interrupted him and continue the conversation without any tension. "Yeah, you should eat something."

"Can I ask you a question?" Elaine said ignoring all the previous statements.

"Anything you want."

"Why are you  doing this?"

"What do you mean?" they were both confused.

"Why are you, you know, selling drugs, hit people all these stuff."

"Do you want to know my story?" Douglas asked her.

"I do."

"When I was 18, my parents both died in a car crash." Douglas started.

"I had just finished school, I didn't have any money, a job, nothing. And I was a legal adult, I couldn't go to any of my relatives. I was desperate for a job, I needed money to pay for my house, for food, for a car, I had to go to college, I was alone and in need. After recovering from my parents and all, I started looking for a job. I was checking newspapers, going to interviews, but I had zero experience and no one was hiring me."

Elaine was listening silently. Thinking this whole new set of information out.

"One day, I was looking for a job at some store and I was waiting for a costumer to leave so I could speak to the cashier. After a while the costumer left and I talked to the cashier, he and the manager of the store kicked me out of the place without a second thought. I, disappointed, left the store and was about to head home, when someone stopped me. It was the costumer from the store."

Throwback

"I'm sorry for what happened back there." the man said.

He was in his late-thirties and looked very friendly.

"No, it's okay. I'm used to it by now." Douglas said.

"What's your name, buddy?" he said.

"I'm Douglas."

"I'm Mr. Sanders." he said "Now let me ask you a question."

Douglas nodded.

"Do you need a job Douglas?"

"I do." Douglas admitted.

"Well I am in need for someone to do this job for me. I'm looking for a young boy like you to do some deliveries, would you be interested in something like that?"

Douglas was young and pure and in need for a job. "Yes! Absolutely!" he said desperately.

"You were delivering drugs?" Elaine asked.

"When I first started, I was just receiving a box and delivering it somewhere." Douglas continued "I didn't know what was inside the boxes and I didn't care since the job was paying me good. I had money for the house, my food, everything, they even provided me with a car. I should have thought that it was too good to be true."

"How did you find out?"

"One day, after two years of me working for Mr. Sanders he asked me to go to his house. I sometimes was receiving packages from there too, so I supposed it was for an another delivery. So I dress up and go to his house."

Throwback

"So Douglas boy, I called you here, because I believe there are some things we need to discuss." Mr. Sanders said and  motioned for Douglas to sit on a chair next to him.

"What seems to be the problem Mr. Sanders?" Douglas asked.

"There is no problem, I just believe it is time for you to know the truth."

Douglas chuckled "The truth about what?"

Mr. Sanders was dead serious "You haven't realized?" he asked.

"Realize what?" Douglas was confused "Is there something wrong?"

"You're delivering drugs, Douglas." Mr. Sanders spat.

Douglas was speechless, he was so desperate for a job, he wasn't even realizing he was a drug dealer for two years now.

"I know what you're thinking, and it seemed weird that you never asked what you were delivering."

"Why are you telling me this? I could go to the police right after." Douglas said.

Mr. Sanders laughed "Oh foolish boy."

"If you go to the police, they will arrest you too. You were the one who was making the deliveries after all."

Douglas was getting very well paid and had fun delivering things. But now that he knew it was drugs. "I-"

"I know it is hard to take in." Mr. Sanders spoke "But believe me, these people need it, you're doing something that's very relaxing and pays very well. Think about it, I helped you when you needed a job and now you have to help me and stay here."

"No, I can't do this anymore. It is bad for people and illegal." Douglas said.

"These people out there, kicked you out of their stores and treated you like shit, you really want to go back to them?" Douglas knew he was right. "Who knows what are they going to do to you next, Douglas?"

"I-I can't-"

"You have three days to think about it, I'll wait."

"What happened?" Elaine was curious to know what made this pure kid into the man she was seeing in front of her right now.

"These three days were like being 18 all over again, I was getting kicked out of every store I was walking in to ask for a job. People were actually treating me like shit, and I was not ready to just let that happen." Douglas said "So after three days, I went back to his house, and started working with him again. It was the only think I could do."

"But now you're working alone, what happened to Mr. Sanders?" said Elaine.

"Mr. Sanders had an uh- accident." Douglas explained "he died."
