"So you and Douglas just broke up?" Elaine heard Jacqueline's voice through the phone "That's why you're so upset?"
Jacqueline called her friend as soon as she got home after the boys had left.
"Yes, Jacqueline, I already told you a million times." she sighed "We just broke up."
"You know that if anything happens, in your life," Jacqueline was always stubborn especially when it came to her friends "you can come by at my house and we can watch a movie and eat ice cream, even if you don't want to talk about it."
"I know Jacque." she smiled and nodded even though Jacqueline couldn't see her "How about 6 o'clock?"
"Six o'clock is perfect! I'll order pizza and you can bring the ice cream." she said and hang up leaving Elaine alone again.
She was getting crazy. She though she could handle this, but now she wasn't so sure. What if Douglas only wanted her for sex or something? What if Tim was right?
Tim knew it from the beginning. He was always saying something about kidnappers, murderers and..
dugdealers.
What if Tim knew him and he was just trying to warn Elaine? What if Tim works with him and he is a drugdealer too?
Elaine couldn't even control her own thoughts anymore. She felt like she was drowning in a sea of thoughts and ideas that probably weren't even true. It was only her imagination. The loneliness was unbearable.
I need to calm down ,she thought, but I need to know.
Her hands were trembling when she took her phone in her hands. She went through her contacts again and searched for his name.
Douglas
She couldn't call him. She was getting more upset and anxious by the second. Her hands were now not only trembling but sweating too. She let out a small cry and threw her phone away from her, all the way to the other corner of the room.
What is happening to me?
She checked the time on the small digital clock that was sitting on her night stand.
17.09
It was too early to go to Jacqueline's house so Elaine decided it would be good for her if she took a walk and then walked back to Jacqueline's house.
She took her phone and keys and then started walking. She was looking down. She knew she didn't really want to meet anyone so it was better if she could just hide herself inside the hood of her huge, black hoodie.
She passed a small park where a group of boys were sitting on a bench laughing and smoking.
She saw one of them looking over at her and she walked faster. But she wasn't walking fast enough because a hand touched her shoulder and made her turn around.
"Elaine?" he said.
"Jack." Elaine whispered "Urm, hey." she said awkwardly.
From what she knew he could be a drugdealer too. He could work with Douglas and Tim.
No, Tim was no drugdealer, right?
"Are you okay?" Jack snapped her back into reality.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"You sure?" he asked curious "How come you're not with Douglas?"
"Haven't you heard?" she sighed "Douglas and I are not seeing each other anymore." she said it that way to be sure Jack would not understand.
"He broke up with you?"
"I think I did it." she answered ,unsure. It's not like they were officially together anyways.
"You found out, didn't you?"
"What do you mean?" Elaine played clueless to make him tell her more.
"About his job." he said "You know what I mean."
"Is he trying it too?"
"What?"
"The drugs," she explained "is Douglas on drugs?"
"He is not on drugs no." he answered "He sells it though."
"I figured."
"Hey yo Jack!" some boy from the park yelled. "Come back here!"
"Wanna come?" he offered.
"No thanks." Elaine politely declined checking her watch. "I need to be somewhere. See you around!"
"See you, love." he waved and walked back to his friends.

Jacqueline opened the front door of her house only to find Elaine standing there awkwardly.
"Hey." she said and hugged her. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine, Jacque." she sighed "But I forgot the ice cream."
"Don't worry, I got you covered!" Jacqueline smiled and closed the door behind them.
Jacqueline had a comedy ready to play on Netflix and on the table in the middle of the living room, there was a big box of pizza and a bowl of ice cream.
"Oh my god, Jacqueline."
"Thank me later." Jacqueline winked.
Elaine sat on a big pillow on the floor next to Jacqueline and they started eating ice cream and chewing on pieces of pizza, while they were watching the movie.
Elaine was actually having fun. She was enjoying this. Jacqueline made her forget everything. About Douglas being a drug dealer, about the doubts she now had about Tim and about everything in general.
"Where are your parents anyway?" Elaine asked.
Normally, Jacqueline's house was always full of life. Now, to Elaine, it seemed dead.
"Date night." she laughed "and Nathan's in his room."
"Oh, great."
After two hours or so the movie was over. "Do you want to sleep over?"
"I guess." Elaine hesitated "I mean my dad is working anyways."
"Great!" Jacqueline said. It was going to be a long long night.
