Douglas was definitely a bad influence on everyone around him. Either they liked him  or not. But Elaine loved him. She didn't care, she was doing drugs for him.

First time he said, one time isn't a big deal.

Two times, are nothing.

Three times, won't hurt anyone.

And this game was bound to continue going on and on for how long?

Jacqueline and Don on the other hand, were better than ever. They loved each other so much they refused to even think of hurting each other.

"Dad and I talked a little and realized that we don't really know the Evans and that it is your choice to date whoever you want and that you should be happy." Carol said.

They were all eating lunch together and Jacqueline was happy to know that her parents and brother were supporting her decision on dating Don.

"Thank you mum. It means a lot." she smiled at her mother.

"We're happy when you're happy." her dad smiled back.

Jacqueline hated it when they were playing the happy, little family and everything. She couldn't stand it. She knew they were all secretly more dark than everyone else could ever imagine. And she hated everyone for it. Even Nathan wasn't as good and kind and pure as he looked. In fact when he was able to walk, before the accident, besides a great football player, he was an asshole. And Jacqueline knew that. He was a player. He changed girls and broke their hearts like it was no big deal. Every girl would kill for a night with him. He was a sex god and he loved it. But almost getting killed and not being able to walk changed his life for good.

Someone would think that Jacqueline was too young to understand what her brother was actually doing, but she wasn't. She understood everything.

And thinking back at it now, broke her heart.

What if her brother was miraculously saved? Would he still be a player?

The answer was pretty obvious, and it hurt Jacqueline to even think of it.

"I'm home." Don shouted while walking inside his house. He expected to find his mother, Monica in the kitchen cooking an amazing meal or just watching TV.

But she wasn't. "Mum?" Don asked worried. "Camille?" he called his younger sister.

"What do you want Don?" Camille shoot.

Don released a breath he was holding inside all this time. "Where's mum?"

Don's biggest fear was to come back to his house and find it empty. Last time this had happened, he came back and he found his mum crying, his baby sister sleeping and his dad gone.

His dad, left them and moved in an other country, by now he probably has an another woman, children and a house that's a lot better than this one.

"She never came from work." Camille said. "But don't worry. She has nowhere else to be." Camille loved her father and she thought that him leaving was her mother's fault.

"Why are you acting like this?" Don asked. "Were you thinking about him again?"

"I was thinking about both of them." she said "They are awful parents, you're 18 now, why don't you become my legal guardian and we can get the hell out of this place."

"Language." Don commented. "And you can't seriously say that! Mum is working all day to help us have food and a house and a bed! She's working harder than you think and to be a single mum is pretty difficult."

"Whatever." Camille said and left quickly to go to her room.

"Damn, puberty." Don mumbled and walked to her room. He knocked  on the door and slowly opened it only to see Camille covered in her blanket and facing the wall.

"Go away." she said.

"Hey don't push me out of your life okay?" he said gently and sat next to her on the bed "I love you and no matter what happens with mum and dad I will always be here, loving you, okay?"

Camille didn't answer so Don continued his speech. "Mum's doing the best she can and she really tries, but she is kind of sad since dad left us. But that doesn't mean she hates us. She loves us and we love her too. And I know you miss dad, but everything happens for a reason and who knows? Maybe we're better of without him."

Camille turned around to face him and tears were streaming down her pretty blue eyes. "I love you too, Donnie." she said and hugged him. "I'm sorry, sometimes I don't really think before talking."

Don giggled at that one. "I heard you and Jacqueline are having a thing now?" the little girl smirked.

She was only 14 years old, but pretty damn smart for her age.

"Wha- How do you know that?" he asked confused.

"You can't hide from your little sister." she laughed.

"You heard me talking to her on the phone?"

"Yup."  she said popping the 'p'.

"Camille! I told you a million times! No snooping!"

"Do you love her?"

"I really do." he said and thought of her beautiful blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes. "But don't get any ideas." he said "No boyfriends allowed until you're at least twenty one!"

"Yeah, yeah whatever you say."

"Camille? Don? What are you doing here?" Monica walked into the room "I thought you were out. Sorry I was late today but I couldn't program my schedule to finish work earlier."

"It's okay mum." Camille said "We did some brother and sister bonding anyways."

"Well, that's great darling." she said "I'm going to go to sleep now, see you in the morning."

"Goodnight mum."
