Thirty// Tim & Mark

Jacqueline and Don were sitting in Jacqueline's room silently, staring at nowhere in particular, blankly.

"Maybe we should call her again." Don offered, braking the comfortable silence.

"We found Tim, and although Elaine told us to never call that number again we are going to do it anyways?" Jacqueline looked at him. "What could possibly go wrong?"

"If they talked to us then, they can for sure talk to us now." Don said "I mean, they won't get in any trouble about it. Douglas and Elaine are in love remember?"

"I don't know, Don." Jacqueline hesitated.

"Call them." Don took Jacqueline's phone and gave it to her.

She stared at it and after a long minute, she started searching for that number.

When she found it, she tapped on it and put it on speaker.

"The number you have dialed, is no longer in use." the recorded voice from inside the phone said.

"They probably threw away the phone." Don figured out.

"I suppose." Jacqueline agreed "Wait!"

"What?"

"What if we asked Mark about it?" Jacqueline asked "I mean he was with Tim this whole time."

"We've got nothing to lose." Don smiled "But first I'm going to go check on my mum and sister and i'll pick you up in an hour to go to Mark's, 'kay?"

"Okay." Jacqueline nodded and after kissing his girlfriend he left the house.

Jacqueline got out of her room and walked to Nathan's room. She knocked the door and waited for an answer, but never got one.

Strange, she thought.

She walked to the kitchen in search for her parents. No sign of them.

"Mum, dad?" she yelled. "Nate?"

She still got no answer so she got to the fridge and saw a note on it.

We went to the doctor with Nathan, we saw that Don was here and didn't want to interrupt. See you later, mom.

Whatever.

Don walked home and saw his mother standing next to the kitchen counter. "Donnie?"

"Hi, mum." he greeted.

"Where were you?" she asked.

"I was at Jacqueline's house."

"Oh, I see that you and Jacqueline are hanging out a lot lately." she looked at him.

"What do you mean? She's my girlfriend."

"Yeah, but what are you doing with her?" she looked at him weird.

"Is this a sex talk?" Don asked his mum confused.

"Wha- no! This ain't no sex talk!" Monica sighed "I'm just worried that you and Jacqueline are spending way to many hours out of the house, and Carol and I are worried that you're doing something irresponsible."

"You and Carol?" Don asked "What the hell, mum?"

"Jacqueline and I are not doing anything." he lied "We are like doing, what normal couples do, walks in the forest, going to restaurants and stuff like that."

"Oh, okay." Monica said defeated "But if there's something, you can talk to me, yeah?"

"Of course mum." Don said "I'm gonna check on Cam and I'm going to find Jacque."

"Be safe, love!"

Don headed to Camille's room and saw that she was sleeping, and after covering her with a blanket, he left the house quietly.

He got in his car and went to Jacqueline's house. When he arrived, Jacqueline was already waiting for him outside of the house. "Get inside, beautiful." he said.

"Ew, Don." Jacqueline laughed as she jumped in the car.

"Let's go to Mark's house." Don said and started the car.

After a while, they arrived in front of Mark's house and walked to the door step, ringing the bell.

Mark's mother opened the door and smiled at them "Hello, Mrs Peterson, we're Mark's friends." Don politely said "Is he inside?"

"Hello there friends!" Mrs Peterson smiled at them "No, unfortunately Mark's not here, he says he needs some time to think, he is probably at that old beach house, he usually goes there to be alone."

"Oh okay, thank you Mrs Peterson." Jacqueline quickly said and took Don and left. "I know where Mark is."

"He took me in that beach house, when we were-" Jacqueline stopped. "you know."

"Whatever, saw me the way."

When they arrived at the beach house, they knocked the door and waited a few minutes.

"Don, Jacqueline what are you guys doing here?" Mark asked.

Mark got to the side and motioned for them to walk inside the house. The went to the living room and sat on the couch. "What is it that you want to talk to me about?"

"What happened to Tim, Mark?" Don said looking at him straight in the eye.

Mark looked shocked. He didn't expect for them to find out so soon.

"I- He-" Mark tried to say, but he couldn't.

His eyes teared up in the memory of the horrible thing he did. "Where is he?" he asked.

"We will tell you where he is, when you tell us what you know." Jacqueline stated.

"Tim and I were going clubbing, he was saying to me that he wanted to apologize to you for acting like a total douche, and we were just casually talking about that. After some time we passed a road, that was a dead end, or something like that."

"We heard voices. We looked there and saw Elaine with some guy."

"Douglas." Jacqueline sighed.

"He was trying to give her drugs, or something. And it looked like she was trying to get away. I told Mark to call someone, and that we should mind our business, but he wouldn't listen. He attacked the guy. But the he was stronger and faster than him so he put him down."

"Tim tried to fight but he couldn't win. Elaine started screaming and she was ready to come to me, when the man caught her foot and make her fall and hit her head. I ran away and tried to find someone, anyone for help but I could find no one. When I got back to where they were, they were gone and I couldn't find them, there was blood everywhere, I was so scared I came here. I know, I'm a coward, and a terrible friend but I got scared, I'm sorry." Mark finished with a trembling voice.

Jacqueline's cheeks were stained with tears by now, and she was just looking at Mark expressionless.

"What happened to him?" he asked.

"Tim's dead, Mark." Don pointed out "Douglas killed him."

We reached 30 chapters that means we are getting even closer to the ending of this book. But I'm thinking if I should make a part two in this same book, or make a sequel. I don't really know yet, though.
