Thirty eight// We did it!

"Elaine, wake up!" Jack whisper yelled.

Elaine groaned "What is it Jack?"

"Douglas brought us breakfast, and I woke up early and I'm so bored." Jack explained.

"What is it?"

"Some kind of cereal, I guess."

"Well don't eat it, what if it is drugged for us to eat and pass out so he can move us somewhere else?"

"El,"

"What?" she looked at him.

"I already ate it." Jack confessed.

"How long ago?" Elaine asked worried.

"Like twenty minutes ago, or something."

"Well, we should wait and if nothing happens to you, I'm eating it too." Elaine said.

"So I am the experiment here?" Jack pointed at himself.

"Yes, Jack." Elaine laughed "Yes, you are."

"Whatever."

"What happened to Douglas and he brought food down here?" Elaine asked.

"I don't know, he seems anxious lately, probably because he has two people in his basement and the police is looking for him."

"Good point." Elaine said and grabbed her food.

"Hey, are you sure you want to eat that?" Jack asked.

"Look, if he's going to move us, well he can't he'll be caught, because we don't both fit inside his truck and he is too stupid to think that." Elaine explained "Also, I'm not giving you my food, I'm hungry too."

"Why are you so hungry?" Jack asked worried.

"Because I don't eat properly the last couple of weeks?"

"No, I meant are you, you know- on your days, or something like that?" Jack rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Wha- no! Actually now that you're saying it, I haven't got my period in a long time." Elaine started thinking.

"What do you mean? Is this normal?"

"Well, no. But I don't know, I mean Douglas did rape me and I had sex with him before and stuff I don't know." Elaine whispered softly.

"You mean- There is a possibility that you are-"

"I don't know, I mean it makes sense." Elaine started freaking out.

"You know what, when we get out of here, we are going to a doctor and he can tell us what's going on, I mean he used protection right?" Jack asked.

"Well, yeah. But what if one of them was broken or something?"

"It wasn't we are going to find out soon."

"This one, is the only house that's left from the area. He must be here, so let's be quiet and go and like ring his doorbell." Mr. Ortiz said to the other officers.

Mr. Ortiz went on the front and rand the door bell.

Douglas heard it and panicked. He couldn't open the door everyone knew his face now and Elaine's face except. "One second, I'm coming." he yelled at the door and ran for the basement.

He ran in and grabbed Jack, "Someone is outside you are going to open the door and tell that you leave alone here in this house and that they have to leave, if you don't do as I say, I kill Elaine right now." he said and grabbed Elaine's arm and took out his gun.

"Don't do it, Jack." Elaine said "Get out of here."

"Oh he wouldn't dare." Douglas said and put the gun right on Elaine's head.

Jack slowly started going for the front door, and when he arrived there, he opened it. "Hello, how can I help you?" he said politely.

"I am police officer Ortiz," Mr. Ortiz said and showed his badge "We need to come inside your house and do a small investigation since we are looking for two missing people and we were noticed that they were last seen somewhere around here. If you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't be afraid, it will only take a few minutes."

Jack thought about it for a second, it was about time Douglas went to jail for all the terrible things he did. "I-I, you're looking for Elaine right?" he whispered.

"Well, yes you know where she is?" the officer whispered back.

"A man has me and Elaine captured in his basement for weeks, he sent me to open the door and told me that if I tried to leave he'll shoot Elaine, you need to go and help her, please." Jack begged.

"Alright son, we will don't you worry. You did the right thing."

Jack showed the officers where the basement door was and the officers went in.

"If you take one more step, I'll shoot." Douglas said, holding Elaine tightly with the gun aimed at her head.

"It's over Douglas, you are coming with us." Mr. Ortiz said. "Let the girl go."

"I won't." Douglas said "I'll shoot her brain out." he threatened again.

An officer from behind took out his gun slowly without Douglas noticing it and quickly shoot Douglas' shoulder.

Douglas fell on the ground in pain and Elaine ran to go and find Jack.

"Jack! We're free, it's over!" Elaine cried.

"We did it El!" he smiled at her.

After some minutes, the officers came out of the basement with Douglas. Douglas' hands were tied with handcuffs and he was shoved into a police car.

"You two can come with me, I'll take you to a hospital to get check ups and treated." Mr. Ortiz said.

And then they all left, for the hospital.

Hello luvs!

So this is the final countdown! We only have two chapters left, until this very book is finished!

Are you guys excited that they are going back home? I sure as hell am!

Be prepared for a very unexpected surprise last chapter, I don't know if it is going to be good or bad, I guess you have to find out on your own.
