Douglas knew that if he had offered Elaine to meet him at BJ's she would have been alarmed and she wouldn't come because of the location of the restaurant.

So he offered something else. They were meeting at Starbucks.

Elaine accepted and hang up on him right after learning the place and the time of the meeting. She wanted to saw him how upset she was.

Douglas arrived there early. Fifteen minutes earlier than the time he told Elaine to come. He order something for him and Elaine's favorite coffee.

Elaine arrived ten minutes later and after spotting his table she approached him. "Douglas." she said.

"Hello, Elaine." he smiled to her.

Elaine looked at the coffee on the table. It indeed was her favorite, but her mind raced and started making crazy scenarios about it being drugged or something like that.

She sat down. "You can begin."

"I am selling drugs, since I was 18 years old." he started "My parents had just died and I needed money, but I couldn't find a job." he sighed. "This weird man came to me one day and told me that he knew I didn't have a job and that I really needed money to survive and that he could help me, that he could get me a job and I could make a lot of money."

Elaine was looking at him silently listening to the story he had to say.

"I didn't know what the job was at first. But I should have asked." he paused.

"What happened?"

"When I found out. It was too late for me to leave. Maybe we could get into more detail some other time, yeah?"

"Oh, Douglas." Elaine said "I'm so sorry."

"It's okay, Elaine." he held her hand "Can we not fight?"

"But can't you stop doing it now, and find an another job?"

"I can't step out now." he said disappointed "I know too much and even if I manage to leave the circle they are probably going to find me and kill me."

Elaine's eyes sparkled with terror. That was bad. Was Elaine really ready to follow a man who's life was always in danger?

Probably.

"I'm fine with it." she finally said.

"You are?" he asked confused.

"Yeah, as long as you respect my choice on being completely out of this, okay?"

"Deal."

After Starbucks they decided to go to a club.

Elaine was happy that Douglas and her where back together so she danced and drank, all night long.

She drank too much though. So when it was time for her to leave. Douglas insisted to give her a ride home, but she wanted Jacqueline to take her home for some reason.

So Douglas called Jacqueline. "Hey Jacqueline?" he said.

"Douglas?" this whole thing seemed weird for her.

"Look, I'm sorry if you were sleeping, but I'm with Elaine and she got kind of drunk and she insist that you come and pick her up to take her home. I'm so sorry for bothering you."

"I'll be there in five, send me the address." Jacqueline said. What was her friend doing with Douglas? With the guy she was so upset about.

She was going to find out.

She got a text from Douglas that was saying the exact location of where they are, they were close to her house.

She sneaked out of her house very quietly and got in her mum's car. She drove to the address of the club and saw Douglas trying to hold a super drank Elaine so she wouldn't hit the floor.

"Douglas!" Jacqueline shouted "Over here!"

Douglas saw her and walked there with Elaine behind him. He opened the door and put her in the backseat. "Thank you so much." he said.

"Jacqueline!" Elaine shouted excited.

"I'll see you around." Douglas said and left.

"Yeah, see you."

When she was sure that Douglas was gone she started driving to Elaine's house. "What the hell happened?" she asked.

"Douglas and I are back together now!" she said excited.

"What do you mean? You broke up!"

"Yes we broke up because Douglas was selling drugs but he told me the whole story and I'm fine with it now."

"He was doing what?!"

Elaine on the one hand could be lying but on the other hand 'drunk words, sober thoughts' it's what they say right?

"What is Douglas doing for a living?" she asked again.

"He is a drugdealer, Jacqueline." she said like it was a normal thing to say. "I know it sounds bad now, but it isn't don't worry. He's a good guy!"

"Get some sleep, Elaine." she sighed.

Jacqueline arrived at Elaine's house and put her to sleep. She decided to stay over and ask Elaine about Douglas tomorrow.

But she had her mom's car and she had to be at home before seven, so no one would notice that the car was missing, and that she was driving without license.

She was doomed.
