"Don" Jacqueline whispered in his ear as they were dancing a slow song.
"Yeah?" he asked in the same tone.
"I need to tell you something."
"You know you can tell me everything." he said with his calm voice.
Maybe I can just show him, she thought.
"I-" she started saying but the DJ stopped her.
"Now it is finally time, to vote for our prom king and queen." he said.
"Do you want to get the hell outta here?" Don mumbled.
"Yes, please." Jacqueline sighed.
~
Elaine was still sitting in her room, with her prom dress still on, not knowing what to do anymore, with her dreams completely crushed.
The door bell rang.
She was convinced to leave whoever was there waiting until they were bored and left, but they were stubborn.
"I'm coming, i'm coming" she yelled, and when she opened the door, she saw him.
The guy she has fallen for, the guy she liked from the first moment.
The guy, that was a drug dealer. And now she knew the truth.
"What do you want, Douglas?" she asked.
"Can you just listen to me, for a second?" he pleaded.
She was ready to give up and let him talk to her, but she wasn't going to do the same mistake again. She wasn't going to let him manipulate her.
"No, Douglas." she mumbled "I'm sorry." she said, closing the door in his face.
Douglas was not ready to give up yet, though.
He was going to give her some space and then he was making his big return. Douglas has just started. And he was always getting what he wanted.
~
Jacqueline and Don went at the backyard of the school, just so they could get away from the gym and be alone for some time.
They didn't care about the prom king and queen, they had more important things to talk about.
"I need to tell you something." the both said at the same time.
"Well, ladies first." Don moved his hand towards her.
"I-" Jacqueline didn't know what to say.
It was weird, saying to your best friend since forever that you liked him, like a lot.
"Can you begin, actually?" she said shyly.
"Well," he started but couldn't finish.
They both wanted to say the same thing. "I guess, we both are awful with words." Jacqueline laughed awkwardly.
"Maybe, I can just saw you." Don said.
"Saw me wha-" she couldn't finish her sentence because of Don's lips crushing on hers.
The kiss, turned into a make out session and everything was going great until, something stopped them.
"Jacqueline?"
They both turned to look at him. "Mark." she whispered "Hi."
"Um, I was looking everywhere for you." Mark answered "But I guess you're just fine." he faked a smile and left quickly from there heading to his house.
"I-" Don was now embarrassed "I'm sorry, I know you and Mark-"
Jacqueline didn't care, she didn't care about what he had to say, she didn't care about Mark right now.
"I can't keep kissing strangers and pretending they are you." she said and kissed him again.
Don grabbed her waist and they continued making out in the back yard of their high school, clueless of what was coming.
~
Mark was thinking, and thinking about all the things he and Jacqueline had done together. He was truly in love with her.
And he just saw her, kissing with her best friend. The guy that she repeatedly assured him that was only her best friend, and nothing more.
He was feeling kind of betrayed, although they were not together. But they had kissed, a lot of times.
And now what? She just left him hanging.
Was he using him to make Don jealous? Was that what she was trying to do? Make Don jealous so they can be together? That was not fair.
But Mark was not sad, Mark was disappointed.
He thought Jacqueline was something else, but apparently they were all the same. They all were going to leave him for something, for someone, who in their mind was better.
Even if it was bad for them. That was what girls were doing to Mark all the damn time.
He was crushed. Just like Elaine's little dreams.
Hello luvs!
I'm currently sad, because of Hayley dying in the originals.
She deserved so much better.
Anyway, I updated again! And I'll start updating asap because I entered this story 'Past Tense' to Wattys2018!
I know my chances of winning are.. well, probably none.
But I was like why not? So yeah, a vote would be really helpful right now.
See you very very soon♡
