Part 10 Jon

Past few days there have been small signs that you are starting to wake up. J you must have been so broken that it's taken so long. Everyone has been to see you. Our entire family have been here. Mom is still here. She telling me to go and rest up as I was only discharged myself three days ago. I did get dragged to a hotel for the night, last night by Harley. I sneaked out this morning; I can't leave you for too long. Your wife and boys have been here too, but they had to go back cos of school and college. You have been in a coma for a month now, Joe was with you last night when I was dragged away to get some rest.

I take my position next to you and cuddle up again. I am hanging a bit off the bed so I don't move any wires. Later in come Donnie, Jenny and Harley.

"There you are. I know I couldn't keep you away" replied Harley "Should I be worried about the two of you cos you are always in that position". I shook my head at his silly joke. I look up at Donnie.

"Why are you here? Isn't it your birthday. You said you were going away".

"I will celebrate when Mr selfish here wakes up" he said "Then we are all gonna celebrate". I smile. We have all been here for hours. Different people come and go in the room over the day. Again I am starting to doze off. I heard something. I shook it off. Then I felt something. I looked over at the ones in the room. Harley was asleep in the chair next to me. Donnie and Jenny were in the corner giggling. It wasn't any of them. I closed my eyes again to shake the feeling off. Then again I heard a sound. There was a noise like gagging. I opened my eyes to look over to where the sound was. There were you, J with your eyes open blinking. The movement was you moving your hand to pull at the tube. Without hurting myself, I turned around to hug you.

"Jordan, you are awake" I said loudly. Donnie jumped up his from his seat and came over. Jenny went out the room to find a nurse. Harley woke up as well cos I kicked him when I moved.

"J, you're back" Donnie said as he hugged you too. Then a nurse and doctor came in with Jenny. We got told to go but I wouldn't. Everyone left but me. I stood there while they took the tube out. I could see from your face how painful it was. You were trying to focus on what's in the room. I was getting worked up with worry about you that Harley took me out of the room.

I came back later but you were sleeping so I sat down next to you. Later I heard something while I had my eyes closed. I heard a faint "Jon". I open my eyes to see you looking at me and trying to reach me with your hand. This time I was sat in the chair. I smile back.

"How are you feeling?".

"Like shit" You slurred your words as you weren't able to talk properly.

"Language J". You smiled back at me. Boy have I missed that grin. You were still totally out of it. You went back to sleep again cos of the medication. You were so peaceful even with the tube to your nose. You don't look battered and bruised anymore, starting to look like yourself again. God I missed you so much little brother.
