Review:
'Closed Eyes' creates an endearing tale of a girl on the basis of tragedy and heartbreak, structuring in family grief as well as new beginnings to idolise a sense of hope even in the lost things in life. Margot is an easily likeable character just as the writing style is easy to follow, with quotes littered at the start of each chapter that are both heartfelt and powerful. Although the chapters are short and the storyline somewhat brief in terms of developments, the relationships between characters are lovely to watch, especially as side plots begin to develop in different perspectives of her mum and Chris. Not only does 'Closed Eyes' lull the reader into a sense of healing, but also builds in a quiet atmosphere from a broken place with relatable thoughts and feelings drawing the reader's own experiences into the forefront of their mind - sometimes without them even realising it.
