Glancing down at the yellow paper once more, I sigh softly and step into the empty classroom. The only person in the room is the woman sitting at the desk in the back of the room. Her eyes flicker up to me and a small smile spreads across her face.
"Can I help you?" She asks and I slowly begin making my way towards her.
"Uh," I mutter, not knowing what to say. Instead of saying anything, I hand her my yellow paper and she adjusts her glasses.
She looks it over multiple times before she leans back in her seat and moves her glasses to sit on the top of her head. "Ah! Miss Tycho. I've heard much about you from your aunt." She states and hands me back the paper.
"You have?" I ask with furrowed brows, today has already been strange enough. I don't need to Eliza's past and or hobbies.
"Yeah. I taught her when she was at this school." She smiles and stands up. "And your mother as well."
I freeze instantly, my eyes darting down to the floor. She seems to notice my sudden uncomfortableness and decides on changing the conversation. "Well," she pats my shoulder, "welcome to Violet High. I'm sure it's not as amazing as Fort Haven, but it's not that bad here."
"It's just Violet Woods," I shrug and a smirk appears on her lips. "How could it be bad?"
"Literally nothing. Nothing bad happens here." She laughs.
The bell rings loudly, signaling that class begins in five minutes. "Well, I'm Mrs. Callar, take any seat that you'd like." She tells me and I look back at her. "Everyone does it anyway."
I nod slowly, my eyes drifting as she walks out of the classroom to greet students as they walk in. I take my seat in the back corner, ducking my head down so that I can't possibly draw any attention to myself.
As people walk into the room, I lightly lift my head up to see the bright, shiny new faces. My eyes stop on a short brunette walking to the empty seat next to me. She takes the seat, sliding in with ease and setting her textbooks down on the desk.
My brows draw together as she hums to herself and I notice her tilting her head back and forth. As I stare at her, her head tilts my way and her bright green eyes meet mine. They slightly widen, as do mine, and she quickly turns her whole body towards me. Her eyes narrow at me skeptically and I lean back in my seat, trying to stay as far away from her as possible as she stares at me.
Her lips purse gently as she literally stares into my soul. "You're not familiar." She states the obvious. "You're new. Who are you? What's your name? You're really pretty, so you must have some dope name, like 'Ashley' or 'Brook'. Something stuck-up, right?" Her brow raises as my eyes grow even wider.
"Uh..."
"Maybe I can guess. I'm good at stuff like that." She points at me before flicking her dark hair over her shoulder. "Okay, let's start with first letter basis." She tells me, eyes narrowing. "Just by looking at you, I'm guessing that it starts with T'?"
"Um..." I mumble, shaking my head.
"No, not T'?" She nods slowly. "Okay. How about... R'? No, not R'. A'?"
"Uh-" My brows furrow. This girl is really energized. And how did she guess A' so quickly? "Yeah," I whisper and her brows raise happily.
"See, I told you I'm good at this stuff." She grins, leaning closer to me. "Okay. How about 'Abby'?"
"No."
"Was it 'Ashley'? I suggested Ashley earlier." She reminds me with a raised brow.
