ALAINA'S POV

"Well, yeah. It's your birthday, isn't it?" Moose furrows his brows at Gabby as she inspects the pink and purple unicorn.

"Yes, but I specifically told everyone that I don't want to celebrate it." She states in annoyance before changing her mood and sending him a warm smile. "But, thanks anyway, Moose. Even though this unicorn is ugly."

"Why are you talking about?!" I ask as Moose begins cackling. Gabby's brow arches as she stares at me and I point at the stuffed animal. "It's so cute!"

"Did you break a bottle?!" Moose asks suddenly, pointing at one of the glass bottles for the ring toss game behind us. Gabby's eyes widen and she looks over at me, causing me to giggle.

"Yeah...It was by accident though. I didn't mean to throw it that hard." She turns to him with a smile. "And I didn't even win anything!" She states as we all begin walking away from the booth, leaving the vender cowering behind the counter.

"We can win something somewhere else. Or we can go on a ride." Moose suggests as I begin looking around for Noah. Ax ran off a little while ago to find him, I wonder if he did.

"Alaina, what do you want to do?"

"I do not want to go into another haunted house," I say instantly, and they both chuckle.

"Oh, wait for me!" Gabby demands abruptly and we glance over to see her racing towards one of the disgusting porta potties. I never once in my life thought I'd ever see her use one...

I laugh as I turn to Moose, who is already staring down at me. "I still cannot believe you dressed up as Dora," I say with a smile and he instantly grins.

"Well, I was just going to come in a clown mask, but then Jaxon called me and asked me to be his cousin, and I instantly knew what he meant." He states as he nods firmly.

I shake my head slowly, "You and Ax definitely beat Gabby and I in the couples costume contest."

"You know it!" He beans excitedly, and after a moment, he realizes what I said. "Wait what?"

I begin laughing loudly, forcing my hand over my mouth to cover my smile. He laughs too and I feel my heart beating loudly in my chest. But it isn't from him.

My eyes flicker down to my exposed arms and I see my tattoo begin turning purple, causing them to turn wide and I quickly push my arm against my side. When I look back up, I find Moose raising a brow at me.

"Just a little cold," I lie with a small smile.

"Oh? I brought a jacket!" He states as he begins talking off his bag and my brows raise. "You want to wear it?"

"Oh, no! It's fine, really!" I shake my head quickly as I hold up my hands. He stares at me in surprise at my fast movements and I force a smile.

"You sure-"

"Yeah, I'm great! I think I'm going to go look for Noah," I say as an excuse, and I end up shocking the both of us. Find Noah?!

"O-Okay." He nods slowly, brows furrowing. "Want me to come with you? I don't think you should be walking alone by yourself."

"Yes, I'm sure!" I claim as I smile at the thought of Noah. I wonder if I actually went searching for him that he'd be happy about it. Well...he did hold my hand...but then I made it awkward I think because I looked so goddamn pathetic.

When I put my focus back on Moose, I realize that he still feels uneasy about me going to look for Noah on my own. "And anyway," I sigh as I readjust my hat, "Noah hates your guts. So, if he sees you alone, he might kill you. So I better find him," I state and his eyes widen faster than the speed of light.
