ALAINA'S POV
"Alaina! Hurry up!"
"Coming!" I shout back as I run over to my mirror and pull my brush through my hair. Once my hair is neat and straight again, I pull on my green hat with a giant, black L on the front.
"Alaina, come on! We have to take pictures!" Charlie calls as she runs into my bedroom. I look back at her over my shoulder to see her dressed in her Halloween costume, which happens to be a Barbie doll with a slit throat. Thank you, Gabby.
"I'm coming, I'm coming," I smile at her as I fix my black overalls and glance down at the fake bite mark in my leg. "How do I look?" I ask and she looks me over, her eyes stopping on my calve.
"You need more blood!" She states, pointing at the large bite mark that it is supposedly from one of those giant piranha plants in Mario. "It looks fake! Didn't Gabriella tell you to add more blood?!"
"Oh, bite me," I roll my eyes as I grab my bag off of my bed and turn back to her.
"Looks like you've already been bitten." She jokes and we both laugh softly as I push her out of my room.
"Girls!" Eliza screams from the living room and we both share a look of fear.
"Coming!"
We run down the stairs and into the living room, finding Eliza and David propped up on the couches with both of their phones, ready to take pictures of us. "Oh!" Eliza winces when she catches a glimpse of all the blood and wounds.
"Don't you girls look terrifying!" David grins at us and we smile back.
"Happy Halloween!" Charlie throws her hands into the air and begins fixing her blonde wig.
"Happy Halloween, girls." Eliza smiles as she stands up and walks over to us. "Now, stand by the stairs so I can get pictures." She demands.
"Aren't we going to wait for Gabriella?" Charlie frowns as her mother pushes her to stand on the second step, resting her arms on the railing as I stand in front of her on the floor.
"We'll take some with her when she gets here," I tell her and she nods. After Eliza takes a couple of pictures, there's a knock on the door and Charlie instantly runs towards it.
She swings it open without an ounce of hesitation and Gabby stands on the other side, wearing the exact same outfit as me, just as Mario instead of Luigi. I smile widely at the giant, bloody bite mark that she made on the side of her face and she smiles right back before she looks down at Charlie.
"Oh my, god! You look fantastic, Malibu Barbie!" Gabby squeals as she pulls Charlie into a hug.
"Come on!" I groan and they both look over at me. "We have to be at school in ten minutes!"
They both run over to the stairs and we all sit down, Gabby and I on the second step and Charlie sitting behind us. After Eliza has got enough pictures, she tells us to wait a moment as she runs into the kitchen.
"Your blood looks fantastic." Gabby smiles widely at me as I inspect her face. It looks so real!
"So does yours. It looks so real and lifelike."
Her face suddenly falls and she looks over her shoulder when Eliza walks back into the living room with a single, chocolate cupcake with a candle on it. "Happy birthday," I tell her and her head snaps towards me.
Gabby's brows raise and she slowly looks back over at Eliza. "Wow, uh..." She whispers nervously as Eliza holds up the cupcake. She quickly blows it out and smiles at her uncomfortably. "Thank you, Liza."
