NOAH'S POV
I stare down at my phone in literal shock. She didn't just tell me that she won't talk to me until I apologize to that asshole, did she? I'm not apologizing to him, that's for sure. It was hard enough to apologize to her, even though it was a shitty apology.
Ax glances over at me with raised brows from his seat on the couch. "Not going so well?" He asks suddenly and I look up from the screen.
When I shake my head, he nods slowly as a frown takes over his face. "What did she say?"
"That I can't talk to her until I apologize to him," I recite what she said to me in my own words.
"Woah!" His brows raise again. "You really pissed her off then." He states and I roll my eyes knowingly. "Well, are you gonna tell him your sorry?"
"Is giving him a black eye another form of apologizing?" I ask abruptly, squinting my eyes at him to show that I'm serious.
"I think Alaina will be even madder if you give him a black eye. I mean, the dude is already sporting the bruise on his jaw." He shakes his head at me as I look back down at the message she sent.
"Well, I'm not apologizing. That's for sure."
"It would get you back in Alaina's graces if you do." He tells me and I look back up with furrowed brows. "And, you don't even have to apologize. Just threaten him. Everyone's afraid of you, Noah." He shrugs as he glances back down at his laptop that is sitting on his thighs.
I bite down on my lip as I look at my phone, frowning at the thought of her being angry with me. "You think Alaina's afraid of me?" I ask and Ax's head snaps towards me.
"Did she see you punch him?"
"No, I don't think so," I shake my head slowly. "But the look on her face when she looked at me. She looked..."
"Disappointed?"
My eyes flicker up to his, "Yeah."
"Apologize to the guy. Get Alaina back. Then lure the guy into an alley and we'll beat 'em to a pulp!" Ax states more happily than he should've, confirming the plan with a firm nod.
"I'm not apologizing," I state angrily.
Ax's smile falls and he slowly shrugs. "Then, I guess Alaina and Moose will make a good enough couple." He tells me as he closes his laptop and stands up. Before I can respond, he makes his way upstairs as I sit dumbfounded on the couch.
I look back down at my phone, seeing that she hasn't said anything else back.
ALAINA [4:37 PM] Don't talk to me until you do.
I haven't said anything back and I don't know if I should. I do not want to piss her off anymore than I already have, Gabby might kill me for making her mad.
My brows furrow as I suck in a breath and begin pressing my thumbs against the small screen.
N [4:45 PM] You don't want me to talk to you?
The small bubbles at the bottom of the screen instantly appear and I smile to myself at thought of her staring at her phone with wide, purple eyes. When the message finally appears, my heart jumps in my chest.
ALAINA [4:45 PM] I want to talk to you all the time, but now when you're being a jerk and going around punching people in the face when they don't deserve it. So, don't talk to me until you apologize to Moose for giving him a bruise on his jaw and busted lip.
I roll my eyes at her demand, knowing well enough that I'll have to do it in order to get her to like me again. I decide on not saying anything back, since I know that I'll get irritated and end up saying something that I shouldn't.
