ALAINA'S POV
"Holy shit," I curse as Gabby and I walk through the giant, spooky gate to the school parking lot where the Halloween fair is set up. And it actually looks really cool.
There's a bunch of rides set up in the far corner, booths for games like popping balloons and ring toss, nearly three haunted houses and a bunch of other stuff too.
"Dude, I know!" Gabby grins widely and I glance over at her. "Oh, I wonder when the guys are gonna get here. You said Moose is still coming, right?" She asks and I smile.
It makes me happy that she isn't out to kill my new friend anymore, even though she still claims to not to like him. We all know that Ax favorites Moose the most because they're basically twins, nearly identical.
"Yes. He didn't say what sort of costume he'd be wearing though," I say with a slight frown, but it's instantly replaced with a big smile when I see a cotton candy cart. "Gabby! Cotton candy!" I point and when she doesn't say anything, I turn to see her spot empty. My brows furrow and I look back towards the cotton candy cart to see her standing in line already. "What the hell..?" I mutter with a small laugh.
"Gotta be fast if you're gonna stick with me," she informs me when I join her in line.
"Gabby, please remember that I'm not ask coordinated as you."
She grins at me as we're both handed a pink cotton candy on the white sticks. We thank the vender before turning around and glancing around the parking lot crowded with monsters of all kinds.
"Think some of them are real?" I ask with a small smile and she turns to me with a curled up lip.
"You wish!" She snorts and I laugh.
We walk around for a couple of minutes in search for the boys, but end up failing. "Where on earth are they?!" Gabby mutters as she pulls her phone out of her pocket.
"I'll call Moose," I say, taking a step back from the female plumber and pressing on Moose's contact. After two rings, I'm sent straight to voicemail. My brows draw together as I pull my phone back from my ear and gaze at my home screen, which happens to be a picture Gabby and I that Ax took a couple of days ago when Gabby was literally covering my entire face in fake blood. "How rude."
"Hey!"
Both Gabby and I turn around to see Moose, dressed in a pink t-shirt, orange basket ball shorts, white sneakers, neon yellow socks, and a purple back pack, running towards us. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me," Gabby and I say simultaneously.
"Hey!" He greets with a wide smile.
"Don't tell me you're supposed to be-"
"Dora, Dora, Dora the exploraaaaa!!!" I turn to the right to see Ax, dressed in his Diego costume, running towards us with a giant smile on his face. "Cousin!" He shouts and Moose grins back at him.
"How's it, cousin!" He shouts back as they chest bump and I look over at Gabby to find her staring at them in complete and utter confusion.
"How cool is this?!" Ax asks, turning to us. "You guys are dressed up as cousins, and we're dressed up as cousins!"
"You're so stupid." Gabby tells him without an ounce of hesitation. "Now, where is my actual cousin?" She asks and I feel my cheeks heating up. Knowing that she meant Noah, Moose's eyes flicker over to me and his brow raises skeptically.
"Oh, you'll never believe it. I actually got him to come to this!" Ax states enthusiastically. "He was going to stay home, but I convinced him to get his lazy ass out of bed."
