NOAH'S POV
"You made this?" Gabriella raises a doubtful brow at Alaina and I. Alaina is currently washing her hands in the kitchen sink as I lean against the counter.
"Mm," I nod slowly as Alaina stifles a laugh.
"You two made this together?" She rephrases her question as she gestures to the table full of food that Alaina and I made.
"Yes."
"Without killing each other?" She continues staring at us in shock. Alaina turns around as she dries her hands off and smiles at her best friend.
"I'm pretty sure we're both alive." She states softly before looking in my direction. "Are we both still alive? You didn't blow powder in my face when I wasn't paying attention, did you?" She asks, brow raising.
Gabby gasps at Alaina sarcasm, causing her to laugh. "What did I tell you?" She points at Alaina. "Don't get smart with me."
Alaina rolls her eyes, "Can't you just be appreciative that we made breakfast?"
"Without killing each other," she nods happily. "Yes, I'm very thankful that you were nice to each other long enough to make your favorite person food!" She flicks her dark hair over her shoulder before sitting down at the table.
This time I roll my eyes as Alaina grabs the pitcher of orange juice she squeezed and sets it on the table. "Be careful of the scrambled eggs," she tells Gabby as she sits down across from her. "I accidentally got some egg shells in there."
Her cheeks turn red at her own words and Gabby laughs. "I had an inkling that you'd be a terrible cook." She smiles at her.
"I'm not terrible, per say," Alaina mumbles as I sit down at the head of the table. She kindly hands me a plate without looking at me and my brows furrow.
"You cut yourself three times when you were slicing strawberries," I state and her head snaps towards me.
"By accident." She states softly as she reaches across the table and grabs the plate of bacon. "Strawberries are slippery, you know." She mumbles, eyes dancing across the table until they meet mine.
"Whatever you say," I shrug and the corners of her lips tilt upwards.
"Alaina," Gabby calls back her attention and she looks back over at her.
"Huh?" She furrows her brows as she bites down on her bottom lip.
Gabby stares at her for a moment with narrowed eyes, causing Alaina's to widen nervously. A smile then spreads across her face and I feel confusion roll off of Alaina. "Halloween is coming up," she states as she takes a bite of her pancake, "we have to coordinate our costumes."
"We do?" Alaina's brows furrow.
Gabby's head instantly snaps towards her, obviously appalled by her ridiculous question. "Of course we do!" She shouts, flailing her arms out. "I was thinking we could be Thing One and Thing Two, but, like, the sexy versions."
I snort into my juice at her words and they both look over at me. I contain my laughter as I set my glass down and wipe my mouth off with my sleeve. When I look up, I find Gabby glaring at me and Alaina blushing, apparently not enjoying Gabby's suggestion.
"I don't think that is a good idea," Alaina tells her when she looks back in Gabby's direction.
"Well, I have a lot more ideas, Alaina." She waves her off with a small smile. "I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to ideas."
