Zara's POV
"Have a nice day, Michelle. I'll see you in class, Scarlett." My mother yelled before entering her classroom.
Mrs Hoe...er...I mean, Ms Hampton, gasped and turned around, a scowl on her face as she sped walk out of the school.
Scarlett had the same deadly look on her face towards me before she went her seperate way.
"Not so fast." My father's voice echoed in the hall as I turned to leave.
So close.
"Yes, daddy?" I turn towards him, batting my eyes innocently with a smile. He raised an eyebrow at me.
"I don't appreciate your language lately." He lectured, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Well then you shouldn't of swore so much around me when I was younger." He chuckled and rolled his eyes.
"Go clean yourself up and get to class." He goes to turn around when he stops and adds: "On time."
I move my fingers up and down to mock him, making an unattractive face with it once he turned around.
I turn the corner in the hallway and jump back in shock, placing a hand over my heart to calm it.
"What the hell, you don't sneak up on someone like that." I breathe, panting for air.
"Sorry," Finn started, chuckling slightly as he fixed his posture from leaning against the lockers. "How did everything go?"
"Well, I got a Saturday detention with Ms Fuck Me this weekend. No thanks to my mother." I mutter, turning the combination to my locker before pulling it open. "Why do you care, anyways?"
"Can't a guy ask his girlfriend how she is?" He smirks.
"I'm not your girlfriend." I tell him sternly, grabbing U.S history textbook.
"Well, that's not what the whole school thinks."
I slam my locker shut and turn to him, "Yeah, well, this school is filled with a bunch of airheads. Including you." I turn around and walk towards my class and dont stop when he yelled:
"Feisty, I like that."
~~~
My mother aggressively turns the key into the front door, muttering curse words under her breath.
"Mom, calm down." I tell her and she groans, fiddling with the key some more. "Are you okay?"
"Im fantastic, Zara. Thanks for asking." She answers me sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "Ugh, why isn't this stupid door opening!"
As the words leave her mouth, the door is swung open from the inside to reveal my father with an amused smile.
"Everything alright out here?" He chuckles and my mom groans, rolling her eyes as she storms inside. "Whoa, what's up with her?" He asks me in a whisper and I shrug my shoulders.
"Mom." I call out to her as she throws her purse on the couch, running her hands through her hair. "Is everything alright?"
She looks up at me, staring at me as if she was trying to decide something.
"Yes, everything is fine." She answered calmly, letting out a deep sigh.
"Are you sure? You're acting really strange."
"I said I'm fine. I'm just...really stressed out with grading and then midterms are coming up and....what Michelle said really didn't help with any of it."
"No, I've seen you stressed before. What else is bugging you?" She looks at me, her eyes glossed over with tears.
"Wait..." My father started, his eyes wide. "You're not..."
I look between the two of them like a maniac.
"She's not what?" I screech.
There was a long silence in the room, my parents looking at each other suspiciously.
"I'm pregnant." She whispers and my eyes grow wide.
"No way, really?!" I yell, not being able to contain the huge smile growing on my face. She nods, a slight smile on her lips as she sniffles.
"Oh my god, this is amazing! I'm finally going to be a sister."
"Are you sure?" My father asks hesitantly, and my mother nods vigorously.
"Yeah. I took a test this morning." A wide smile grows on his face, practically glowing with happiness.
He walks over to her, wrapping her into a big hug and pecks her lips lightly.
"This is amazing! Why didn't you tell us earlier?" The smile on my father's face is the biggest I've ever seen, his face lighting up like a light bulb.
"Well, I didn't really want to tell you guys like that: in the middle of a school hallway with a phyco brit yelling at me." She chuckled and my father pulled her back into a hug.
"I'm finally going to be a sister!" I cheer, throwing my hands up in the air. "Woo!" Making my parents chuckle.
