It was you baby, the one I thought would be beside me until we got old,

The one I wanted to walk hand in hand with until the end of the road,

But we didn't end like the fairytales I was told,

One second we were hot in-love, next we're two cold souls.

Now I wonder if you look both ways when you cross my mind,

Was ripping my heart out so easy you did it and felt fine?

Do you even regret how you handled this? Was I a waste of your time?

I deserve an explanation as to why I was left behind.

I let you in, I swear I loved you to the fullest,

I would've done anything for you, even if that means taking the bullet,

And I'm not just saying this baby, you were actually worth it,

But I guess you didn't believe me or believe that my intentions were the purist.

I wish I could go back to where I felt you pulling apart,

But I don't know if I'd try harder or try to protect my heart,

Either way, I won't regret the chance we had to start,

You deserve the world baby, I hope one day you truly believe you're art.
