It doesn't matter where I travel to in order to get a fresh start,No place on this earth can help me escape the darkness in my heart,
I could let Tokyo's lights consume me, I could indulge in France's art,
But no matter how I try to distract myself, my demons are too smart.
I could roam the streets of Italy, or climb the mountains in Peru,
But nothing will stop my toxic thoughts from coming through,
I don't know why that is and I don't know what else to do,
I thought my only option was to try and find myself while starting life anew.
But you can never leave your past, it's something you'll always own,
And you can never leave yourself, you're all you have when you come home,
You can try to find signs during the prayer from the Pope in Rome,
But it's only you who could love yourself when you're all alone.
