My eyes trailed up the arm holding the bouquet of flowers. They landed on hazel eyes that were staring right back at me. They landed on flushed cheeks and parted lips.
They landed on the face that I use to kiss and a heart that I use to hold in the palm of my hand.
Mikey: they were your favorite...
Eddie: Mikey?!
I fell into him, wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him down to my level. His hands wrapped around my lower back and landed on my exposed skin.
Mikey: hey sunshine...
I pulled away, keeping my hands on his upper arms. My smile was bright and my heart was fluttering.
Mikey: you look good...
Eddie: oh... thank you... you too
Looking into his broken eyes I finally remembered that he cheated on me.
Richie: what the fuck
I let go of mikes arms as Richie jogged over to me. He pulled me into his chest, and looked mike up and down
Richie: whos this sweetheart?
He let his grip loosen as I pulled myself away from his chest
Eddie: Richie, this is mikey.
Mikey: Nice to meet you
Richie: Mhm. Why were you hugging?

Stan and Bill came running over. They made a human shield between mike and I
Stan: why are you here wheeler?
Bill: are you here t-to break Eddies heart a-again?!
Mike: what? No! I'm here for school
Richie: break your heart? What does that mean?
He looked down at me and cupped my cheeks
Eddie: remember when we talked about ex's? This is "M"...
His head snapped to mike and he tried to push past Stan and Bill
Richie: YOUR THE ONE WHO CHEATED ON MY BEAUTIFUL BABY BOY?! YOU FUCKING TWIG COME AT ME!!
I pulled Richie back and he tried to get away from my grip
Eddie: Stop chee! It's okay!
He huffed and calmed down. He pulled me into his chest again and rocked back and forth
Richie: it's okay... I'll protect you...
I let out a laugh as Stan and Bill joined the hug
Mikey: Nice to see that nothings changed...
Stan: you were literally gone for one summer
Mike: a very long summer. And you guys were my friends...I missed you...
Bill: that d-doesn't fix what you did t-to Eddie...
Mike: I know you guys don't believe me, but I didn't do anything to Eddie. He was the best thing to happen to me
