Maggie: it'll only be a few hours Rich! I'll give you money too!
Richie: I move back in and this is what you throw in my face?
She stepped closer to me, putting a callused hand on my cheek.
Maggie: and I'm so happy that you did move back... but your mama needs help... I promised my friend that I would do this.
Richie: you realize I hate this?
Maggie: it'll be helping me out a lot... I didn't expect to be called back in to work today.
Her hand fell down to her side. I sighed in thought and scratched the back of my neck
Richie: how much money?
Maggie: enough to take care of him and some more for your pocket
Richie: Fine. But eddies coming over to help me.
Maggie: you know I don't want you two alone... especially if you're dating...
Richie: Mrs.K is right next door!
She hummed and grabbed her purse from the counter
Maggie: Okay... I'll be back in a few hours. He should be here soon
She handed me a couple bills that I stuffed in my pocket. She blew me a kiss goodbye and I turned to the phone. I dialed Eddies number and listened to the ring
Eddie: Hello?
Richie: come over please
Eddie: why?
Richie: I'm home alone
Eddie: that sounds like a personal problem...
Richie: please?
Eddie: .... okay... I'll be over...
He hung up and I waited by the door for him to knock. When he did I opened it and he stepped in. He kicked his shoes off and sat on my couch
Eddie: you bored or something?
Richie: Well... I actually have a slight task that I need help with...
Eddie: oh?
Richie: my moms making me babysit some kid and I need help
He sat up and stared at me
Eddie: you called me to babysit?
Richie: help babysit—
The doorbell interrupted me and I ran to the door. I opened it to be greeted by a scruffy man with a leather jacket, a kid resting on his hip and sucking on a pacifier.
Man: you the babysitter?
Richie: yes...?
Man: I'm Charlie, this is princess Raven. Here—
He handed the little girl over to me along with a small pink backpack and a car seat
Charlie: Bye princess
He waved to his daughter who giggled and waved her chubby fingers
Richie: bye honey!!
I cooed to the unamused man. I shut the door and turned to Eddie who was now in the doorway. He saw Raven and instantly gushed
