''Toh Hafsatu, please always respect your husband, never disrespect him no matter what. Your paradise lies beneath his feet. Please always be that obedient little layla i know. I know you have patience layla. kiyi hakuri da duk meh mijin ki yayi maki. I think i should stop here, your mother has said all yesterday. I love you so much my daughter.'' Daddy concluded hugging a sobbing Layla.
She was wearing a purple lace sewn into a simple yet beautiful skirt and blouse. She put on a silver throbe (alkyabba). She was about to be taken to her husband's house, she is at daddy's room receiving her last nasi'ah. After the telling her dos and don'ts, she was escorted to the car by her mum, she held her so tight sobbing that it made mammy cry too. Aunt Hatice and Aunty Safiya are the ones to take her to her matrimonial home along with the other Aunts. They are to go to Alhaji Yerima residence first before taking her to her house.
They arrived at the house or rather mansion. They were ushered into a very well furnished living room. Hajiya Maryama showered Layla with gifts, she poured her blessings to her also. Ni'imah came in and sat next to her bestfriend
''Ooh tazama tazama." She whispered in her eyes making her to smile. Her face was bent low and covered with the alkyabba. The grooms family welcomed the bride with open arms.
After being welcomed by the grooms family, they took the bride to her husband's house which is in gana street, maitama. Layla came out of the car, and entered the house with her right leg saying some duas with Ibty by her side. They took her to one of the rooms upstairs, her face was covered so she couldn't see where she was going. The house was full with people who came to see the brides house. Old women were doing 'guda'.
People are gone, it is only the brides friends that are remaining for the groom to come and for the interrogation between the bridesmaids and the groomsmen . Layla was in the room with Ibty and niimah, she has removed her alkyabba immediately when the people left. "God, i'm sleepy." She said falling on the bed on her stomach. "And hungry." She added.
''Don't worry, Ya Muhammad is on his way." Niimah said laying on the queen-size bed next to Layla bringing up her phone for a selfie. They were about to snap when ibty came in. "Lie lie, you're not snapping without me." They snapped the picture and she posted on her snapchat story and left the room.
''God, Layla your house is beautiful, it is so classy and not too shouty." Rahma said, coming inside the room.
''Yeah, thanks to me and Ya Meena." Ibty winked.
Niimah came in with a huge smile on her face. "Your ango is here." She squealed.
''And we are leaving now." Ibty added.
''Come on guys, please don't go." She said holding Ruqaiya's hand.
Ibty gave her a tight smile. "Don't worry, Mr Moh is here and we will come tomorrow inshallah, now be a good girl and don't do you know, dirty stuff." She said trying not to laugh. Layla just shook her head.
Layla blushed and covered her face with her palms. Ibty adjusted her headtie and her throbe, she re- covered her face and sat at the edge of the bed using her phone replying her messages.
She heard someone clear their throat, she knew it was muhammad because of the strong and rich scent of cologne. He came close and squatted right in front of her, he raised the throbe from her face and gave her a million dollar smile which made her heart melt.
He placed his palms on her forehead. "allaahumma innee as'aluka khayrahaa, wa khayra maa jabaltahaa ‛alayh, wa a‛oodhu bika min sharrihaa, wa sharri maa jabaltahaa ‛alayh'' (O Allah, I ask You for the goodness within her and the goodness that you have made her inclined towards, and I seek refuge with You from the evil within her and the evil that you have made her inclined towards."
