Layla needs a vacation from being a wife and a mother, really. Sabrina is in her terrible twos stage. If you don't know what that is.

Terrible twos is a period in a child's social development (typically around the age of two years) which is associated with very defiant or unruly behaviour. Their main goal is Crying, wailing or throwing themselves on the floor are common elements of a terrible twos temper tantrum, a hallmark of this developmental phase.

Honestly, that's what She is going through right now. Despite being eight months pregnant, She handle a child of that stage.

And the father, smh. Muhammad is not helping matters at all. They'll annoy him at the office and he will come home and drop the bombshell on her. As if he is the one that is pregnant. smh

Se shegen mita tsiya Kamar tsoho!

And both the father and daughter take her as their maid. They make her work nonstop like a donkey, they don't even pity her at all. muhammad and his silly requests like 'pass me the remote' 'go get my phone' blah blah blah

They want to kill her before her time comes. Today is thursday and she is currently in her room resting. Muhammad's at work and Sabrina is in the living room watching tv along with her nanny.

She heard a knock on the door and asked the person to come in. Not to her surprise, it was Niimah.

''Mamimah!'' Layla squealed and hugged her.

''Mai ciki, you look like you are about to give birth at any moment from now. Are you sure you're not giving birth to twins lay?'' She asked. Layla asked her about sultan and she said he was in the living room with sabrina.

Layla rolled her eyes. "Oh please if I were giving birth to twins, I would know.''

She scoffed. "If you say so. Anyway, you still haven't checked the gender of the baby?''

She shook her head lazily. "No, we haven't, but i have this gut feeling that it is a boy''

''Gut feeling ayy?Allah ya sa''

She muttered an 'Ameen' and they drifted to another topic.

Ni'imah left after maghreb and ever since She's hasn't been feeling too well. Muhammad's also came back after maghreb. She has been in her room, laying on the bed when Muhammad came in.

''Baby, are you okay?'' He asked, coming closer and pressed the back of his hand on her forehead.

''No, I am not. I think something is wrong with the baby." She said, clutching her stomach. "Please, take me to the hospital Muhammad''

They are currently at the hospital with their family obstetrician, Dr Hauwa Sulaiman Hussain, who is also her cousin from daddy's side.

They have scanned the baby and they are in her office waiting for her to be back with the papers. seconds later, she came into the office with the papers and sat down.

''Layla, your baby is in distress." She said.

Layla looked at her then at Muhammad. "What does that mean?''

She sighed. "It means Fetal distress is an emergency pregnancy, labor, and delivery complication in which a baby experiences oxygen deprivation also known as birth asphyxia.''

Okay, that does not sound good. She kept quiet and listens.

''It includes changes in the baby's heart, rate which i saw on the fetal heart rate monitor, decreased fetal movement, and meconium in the amniotic fluid. among other signs, Medical professionals must immediately address and manage fetal distress to avoid  and permanent injury." She stopped and looked at Muhammad, hell that got her nervous.

"What is it Dr Hauwa?'' He asked her in a worried voice.

''The only way to stop fetal distress is to deliver the baby, and is frequently is accomplished by a cesarean birth..which we need to perform as quickly as we can''

Layla just nodded. "Whatever it takes for the baby to be safe''

The doctor nodded too. "When is your EDD?''

''August second." Muhammad answered

''Four days from today, perfect." She nodded, writing something on her paper.

She looked up and focused her eyes on Layla. "I am going to schedule you on eight o'clock tomorrow morning inshallah, but for now I'm giving you a room and assigning a midwife to help you prepare. there's nothing to be afraid of Layla''

She made a call through intercom and directed the person on what needs to be done. She took a deep breathe and looked at Muhammad. "Okay, but I prefer an epidural anesthetic''

Dr Hauwa nodded. "That's not a problem''

Someone knocked and a nurse came in, hauwa told her everything that needs to be done and asked her if the room is ready and she replied. "Yes ma'am, it is ready for the patient''

All three of them stood up and followed the nurse to the vip section in the maternity ward. Muhammad's hand is at her lower back making soothing circles.

After reaching the suite, she sat on the bed and Muhammad left with Hauwa to sign the consent letter. He called Ya Lou and Ya Meena earlier when they left for the hospital.

The nurse gave her a hospital gown to change into. After bathing and shaving, she came out and changed into the gown. She gave her the epidural through a drip after she laid down on the not so comfortable bed.

Layla reached for her phone but she couldn't find it. It is probably with Muhammad. She thought. Shortly, Muhammad came back along with Ya Meena.

''Hafsatu, sannu koh?''

''Maama, lütfen Nabeel'i arayın, please call Nabeel." She said to ya Meena.

''Why?'' Ya Meena asked

''He should go and pick sabrina and take her to Mammy's"

She nodded. "What time is the surgery scheduled?'' She asked

''Eight o'clock, Inshallah." Muhammad answered and she nodded.

''What time is it now?'' Layla asked

''Eleven thirty'' Ya Meena replied her, after checking her phone for the time. She has nine hours left to meet her little baby.

Layla was brought into the theatre room on a stretcher. Before coming to the theatre, she had to get ready.

She already had the epidural in place so the anesthesiologist increased the dosage. Next, she drank some chalky stuff called Bicitra to neutralize your stomach acids, they inserted a catheter into her bladder so that it remains empty and and IV.

Then they went to the operating room where a screen was placed around her stomach so that she will not be able to see the doctor making the incision

She has a drip in her arm and an oxygen mask over her nose and mouth, her abdomen was  cleaned with a disinfectant and any hair that is likely to get in the way was shaved off

Once the anesthetic took hold, the doctor made two incisions: one through the abdomen and another through the uterus itself. During the procedure, she felt some pressure and tugging as the baby is eased out of the uterus.

Once born, baby's mouth and nose was  suctioned and the umbilical cord cut. her placenta was removed and shortly after, she is stitched up. the room was filled with the baby's cry, she weakly asked the doctor if she could see the baby.

The doctor held the baby up so that she could see him. On the other side of the room, doctor Hawwa came out and announced to the family members

''Layla gave birth to a baby boy, both her the baby are fine, Alhamdulillah."
