Filling in a basic sheet cataloguing the adjustments you'd made to Alex's X-Suit, you couldn't help but overhear Hank on the wall-phone to what you assumed was a family member. You didn't mean to pry, but he wasn't exactly trying to lower his voice by any capacity.

"Yeah, I'm excited. Of course I am! It's not ever day your sister gets married," Hank remarked, and by the sound of his voice, you could tell he was smiling without even having to look up. You always known him to be a very tender man, and you weren't surprised that he was so close with his family. "Yes, ma, I've packed," He added, feigning annoyance into the receiver at who you'd now figured out was his mom.

There was silence as she spoke for a few moments. "Ma . . ." He groaned, and you peered up and across the lab to see him blushing slightly - he had always been easy to fluster, and it was something that you found quite endearing about him. He curled around the reciever as if embarrassed, eyes flickering over to you.

You simply gave him a kind smile and looked back down at your work, not wanting to seem like you were listening in.

His words quietened, but you could still hear him. "No, I won't be bringing a date. I don't have to have one," He told her, foot tapping against the linoleum floor audibly. There was silence again, before he sighed heavily, and finally admitted, "Fine! I actually have someone I can bring - no! - ugh, okay, she's my girlfriend."

You snorted under your breath, amused, because you knew for a fact he wasn't dating anyone. He spent most of his time in the lab with you, in fact - and the rest of his time you assumed was dedicated to the little sleep he could get. Not to mention the fact that Hank wasn't exactly the best with women. It's taken him a few weeks to warm up to you, and he still got shy every now and again. You couldn't say you were any better around him, though.

"Okay, I gotta go," Hank finally said, "Yeah, yeah - okay - yeah, I'll see you in a week. Okay, bye, ma."

You heard the click of him hanging the phone up again, and a soft groan that escaped him in exasperation. In your peripheral, you saw him begin to walk to the large table you were sat at, taking up a stool opposite you. You'd usually work like that; so that you could easily pass things back and forth, and get the others consultation.

Hank rested his head in his hands, looking down at his paperwork that you could tell he wasn't thinking about.

"You okay?" You asked while peering up at him, knowing the obvious answer, but thinking it was more polite to enquire first.
