Chapter 7- Hidden beyond pages, in between the words

I woke up with a pounding headache. "What the hell happened?"  I said out loud. I couldn't remember anything after eaves dropping on the conversation in Sister Mary's office. There was something I was supposed to remember. It was nagging at me. It feels as if it was almost wiped away from my mind.

As if someone has stripped me away from a certain memory. I groaned and turned to the alarm clock on my left. "It's 7:30!" My eyes widened. "Shit! I need to get dressed."

After washing up and getting dressed it was 7:45. I had fifteen minutes to get to school or Ms. Clarke will have the perfect opportunity to give me detention. Ms. Clarke is my history teacher and although I excel at history, she despises me more than anything. I wouldn't blame her though. She's Emily's aunt. I wonder what poisonous lies she hisses into her ear. What a snake.

Soon enough, I was at the steps of the school and it was 8:01 am. This day is even better than yesterday! Note the sarcasm. Just as I arrived at Ms. Clarke's class, I expected her to scream in my face. However, a different outcome resulted. "Good morning, Thana. My name is Ms. Black and I'm going to be your History teacher for the rest of the year." A warm familiar voice said. I knew this voice. I looked up to see the old women who stamped my hand at the festival! The one who knew my name even before I told her! Wait, did she say the rest of the year? What happened to Ms. Clarke?

"Uh g-good m-morning." I stuttered trying to comprehend what had just happened. "Have a seat. Today, class, we will be discussing something of historic importance. I have permission from your school to introduce a sort of religious reality that has been set upon us. We all know it, yet we know nothing about it." She explained. She managed to gab everyone's attention, something Ms. Clarke was never able to do. "We will speak of The Fall." And just as those words left her mouth I gaped in horror. The painting... This woman is beginning to creep me out big time.

"Some of you may know the story, but are not familiar with the details." She mentioned again. "That is why you will be reading a book I will give you. It is the closest to the truth, but remember that not everything is depicted. Hidden beyond the pages, in between the words, you shall find the true treasures." The way she spoke gave a sense that she knew all there is to know and with every word she spoke, she stared at me, her eyes boring intently into mine. She handed me the book and the title read 'Ruler Of Hell'.

"Ruler Of Hell? Are we talking about 'The Fall' as in Lucifer's fall?" Evan asked. "Why, yes." She answered and winked at me. Why the hell would she wink at me? As if on cue, the bell rang. "Read this for Monday and I will be picking one person to make an oral reflection. Read well, it will be graded." She said as she gathered her stuff. Something told me this person was going to be me. I stood up from my seat and made my way out the door.

                                    *
Today passed in the blink of an eye and no one bothered me. That was good. I exited my last class for the day and walked out of the school. I stared at the book in between my fingers. Her words resonated clearly in my mind. Hidden beyond pages, in between the words...

When I reached, I greeted the sisters and had lunch. Then, I headed to the small library. I spotted Henry there. "Henry!" I exclaimed and hugged him. "Why haven't you been visiting? How are your friends?" I inquired. "Well, I can't visit you a lot because I'm a big boy now and I have homework! Oh and my friends are doing fine. They act weird sometimes, but it's fine." He explained. "Weird? What do they do?" I asked worriedly. "They say weird things at night and it scares me sometimes. They look like they are talking but they would be sleeping and sometimes they try to hurt themselves!" He said sadly. "HURT THEMSELVES?! Henry we must tell someone. This is not healthy." I blurted. "I know, Thana, but when I tell them that we must tell the Sisters they tell me that he will hurt them if we do..." he whispered flightendly. I stared at him with utter disbelief. He's too young to be talking like this. He doesn't deserve to know all this.

"How do they hurt themselves?" I asked him in a small voice. "They don't hurt themselves literally. But they ask for a weapon or something. They said they need a pitchfork?" He says unable to understand the severity of what he is saying. "Listen Henry, you speak of this to no one. I know what to do." I told him. "Always stay where the sisters are and pray before you go to bed." I said again.

I went out of the library with Henry and put him in the great hall where all the others were. I reached my room and plopped down on the bed. If I tell the Sisters, the boys will get hurt... But if I don't they also will. It's just a matter of time. How can I even handle this alone? I'm barely able to handle the bullies in my school, let alone satanic acts and supernatural things. I'm leaving for good on Monday, and I have a feeling if I go with those two, I won't be coming back anytime soon. I caught a glimpse of the book. Something inside me tells me that this book is the answer.

I grabbed the book and started reading the first page.

We all know of Lucifer. The ruler of hell. Ask yourselves. Do you really know of his story? You might know that he is a fallen. But do you really know what that means? Throughout this book, we will be exposing you to the world of the in-between, to his fall and how he became satan.
