🎧: Room to Breathe- You Me At SixChapter 24- A Beacon For Disaster
"Elias. It isn't the convenient time for flattery. Lucifer has been captured and we need your aid in getting him back." Lexus interrupted. "The thing is, Lexus. How will I be sure my debt will be paid off after this?" Elias lapsed into serious tone almost immediately. Business.
"If you're uninterested in being our ally we have the Diamonne Coven on our side. They're one heck of a bunch." I revealed and Elias was stunned. Lexus held a proud look in his eyes and I felt an inexplainable benevolent feeling.
"Impossible. Their leader is on the extreme DL. We don't even know if it's a male or female!" Elias exclaimed. "I call your bluff." He pin-pointed, and as if on cue, Maeva walks into the restaurant. "What is she doing here?" I half whispered, half- shouted at Lexus. "I thought we might need some backup." Lexus responded. There stood Maeva Diamonne looking magnificent. She wore a white tube dress that hugged her body. Her purple eyes shone brightly under the black eyeliner, and her hair was put into a ponytail. Her brown complexion glimmered. I had never seen Maeva like this. She truly was gorgeous.
Her powerful aura radiated through the room, and almost everyone in the restaurant bowed their head in respect. She is the leader of the most powerful coven; she's bound to have that much power roaring off her. I smiled proudly at my ally. Things are starting to come together. "Princess Thana, I heard you might need me." Maeva spoke in a composed manner. "Well, Ms. Diamonne, it seems your timing is impeccable." I smiled smugly. Elias' eyes were about to pop out of their sockets and I attempted to stifle a laugh. "You're the leader of the Diamonne Coven?" He queried. "Maeva Diamonne, in the flesh." She beamed.
She sat down next to Elias and he visibly gulped. "You're one heck of a woman alright." He stared her down like she was the last thing hell ever see. "Take a picture, Mr. Aurea, it'll last longer." Maeva rolled her eyes at him. "Don't mind if I do." He pulled out his phone and legit took a picture of her." I didn't mean it literally!" she gasped. "Well, you shouldn't have suggested it." He retorted. "Back to our initial topic, what do you say Elias? Will you be our ally?" I questioned. "If I get to work with two hot and demanding women like you, I would gladly sacrifice myself for any cause you'd like me to." He winked.
"You're a disgusting fuckboy." Maeva sneered. "I wouldn't mind being a fuckboy if I get to fuck you." He answered. "Why don't you shove your tiny d-"Maeva began saying. "Stop this nonsense!" I bellowed and both of them stopped arguing. "This incessant bickering is the last thing we need right now. If hell isn't managed in a couple of days by its true ruler all will turn to havoc. The reapers are doing as much damage-control as they can but we don't have much time." Lexus spoke in an angry tone.
"Elias, I need you to pledge your loyalty to me." I revealed. Elias squinted his eyes at me. "I will do no such thing." He replied. "Then you will have to suffer the consequences of being my enemy. I don't have the capacity to stand on neutral ground with anyone. Its either you're my ally or my enemy and I don't advise you to be enemies with the future queen of both hell and the in-between as well as a solid ally to the most powerful coven of both worlds, Diamonne Coven." I warned him. By now, Elias was fuming with anger. "Don't let your ego get in the way of what's best for your coven, Elias. Pledging loyalty to a woman won't bruise your self-worth." Maeva pointed out.
Elias was in deep thought, it was evident on his features. The restaurant grew silent as we waited for Elias to give his final answer. "I will do it." Elias stated, but as soon as he kneeled on one knee, shots fired and bullets broke through the room.
"Maeva, duck!" I screamed and she immediately did. Bullets broke the glass and the witches immediately got into defense stance. The bullet-proof bubble each one surrounded themselves with served as armor, but I don't know for how long they'd be able to hold it. "Thana, I'm going to perform a spell to ward them off. If anything happens I need you to lead my coven. I trigerred a spell that would cause my power to transfer to yours if something happens to me." She said. "Maeva what the fuck! No you're not! Stop speaking like this." I yelled at her and a knife lunged through the chair behind me. I immediately flinched and my eyes went wide. "In our life there isn't a single thing certain, Thana. Only death is certain." She explained.
Lexus held out his gun and began shooting. Maeva walked over to Elias who was drenched in blood and firing bullets from behind a counter as well. She held his hand and whispered in his ear. I heard a faint thing about a spell. He nodded and they both started chanting in Latin.
The attackers stopped shooting. They wore black face masks and you couldn't see a single detail of their faces. Their eyes were shielded with sheer black material. "Give us, Thana Dea." A bulk man stepped forward and said. I peered urgently at Maeva and Elias. After a second, a blinding light emerged from Maeva and Elias's side and the shooters literally turned into dust.
The witches were drained and most of them fainted after the encounter. " Just as I had expected. Filthy Daemons." Maeva whispered in a tired tone. She sat in a chair and buried her face in her hands. With blood splattered on his face and clothes, Elias kneeled in front of me. His sight was horrific, his eyes were dark and sinister and his expression was ruthless. "I, Elias Aurea, pledge my loyalty to thee, Princess Thana Dea." His voice was dangerous and held anger. " I shall dedicate my life to destroying my demons, because you see those who've fainted? They lost one of their three lives, which makes the other two under imminent threat." Elias explained pointing at the fallen witches. "Witches have three lives?" I asked. "Only witches of the Aurea Coven, it was given to them as a gift after they helped preserve yo- well after they did something worth getting a reward for." Lexus stated. "They helped preserve what, Lexus?" I pestered him. "Another story for another time." Replied Elias. "Now let's get Lucifer out of their clutches."
The realization dawned on me as I stared at the ruin that has become of this place. Then, I noticed blond hair with blood staining it sprawled in the corner of the room.
I walked over to it. Lexus caught on to where I was going and followed me. I saw a the blond wig with the costume of a hostess in a pile. My mind immediately raced back to the hostess who flirted with Lexus when we arrived.
A bloodied pieced of paper was buried in the pile of clothes. 'It was a great pleasure meeting you, Princess Thana. I promise you, we will be back.'
I shuddered at her words. "And to think I slept with her." Lexus clicked his tongue. I looked disgustingly at him. "She just threatened me and all you could think of is regretting one of your countless whoring sessions?" I rhetorically stated. Lexus raised his hands in surrender. Something's suspicious. At that moment, I let a melancholy thought seep in. I'm a beacon for disaster.
