Chapter 35- The Forsaken Ball
The way back to the castle was a blur. I stared at the scar on my arm. The wound was open; exposed. It almost resembled the scar laying in my heart. A symbol of the void inside me.
"Stop staring at the scar, Thana. It will only make it worse." Maeva said in a dismal tone. "We'll have to cover that. I'll wip up a long-sleeved dress for the ball. I'm just trying to regain my strength. I'll need a couple of minutes." She explained to me and I nodded.
"Maeva I feel so emotionless and conflicted. I think the bomb of emotions that erupted in there rendered me emotionless." I truthfully told her and my eyes met hers. "Oh, darling. It's going to be alright." She told me. "So, what's going on with Lexus? I heard you guys um- kissed?" She scratched her neck uncomfortably as she asked the question.
"I don't even know what's up with Lexus these days. He's so fucking confusing. One minute he's so sweet and poetic and the next he's literally the devil's accomplice." I sighed. The path before us was empty. Not a single soul roamed the area. "Weirdly, Elias is the same. We've been fighting non-stop, but Thana, I actually have feelings for him..." she trailed off.
"Not because I have a miserable love life that means you should have one. I won't let that happen. Talk to him, Maeva. Tell him how you feel. I'm pretty sure he feels the same." My lips curved into a small smile as I pulled Maeva into a hug. "You deserve happiness, M."
Maeva's purple eyes clouded with tears. She really loves him. "Wear a stunning dress and make the sucker fall for you." I showed emotion for the first time in hours. "Speaking of." Maeva stood in front of me and closed her eyes and hummed. She's performing a spell.
I opened my eyes to see that Maeva had whipped up a champagne colored mermaid styled long-sleeved dress with a beautiful pink print over the top part.

"It-s gor-geous." I stuttered. But then, my eyes followed Maeva's beautiful dress. It was a simple elegant light pink silk dress with a slit on the left.
