🎧: Candy- Doja CatChapter 20- Red Silk Dress
Its been three days since I returned from Drakos' castle. I haven't seen Erebus, nor Lucifer. Everyday I sat in my room and sulked. Looking outside the window at the lively garden. My days consisted of not eating and not sleeping. For the first time in 3 days I've slept today, though only for 5 hours. Then Maeva's words echoed in my mind. Mend things my ass, I'm going to make Erebus respect me.
I woke up from my coma-like nap and decided that today I was going to do something productive. I called for the servants to help me get dressed and bathed. I thanked them for their kindness and exited the room.
Today, I was wearing a beautiful red silk dress with a low plunge. I didn't have any plans, but the color red resembled power to me and it resembled femininity. I will embrace my power as temporary ruler and I will not let some 'lost souls' or an abomination of demons get in my way.
My heels clicked on the staircase, and my head was high. I heard a powerful voice boom in the foyer. "Guess Erebus is back." I said to myself. Mustering up my courage I sauntered over to where Erebus was standing. His eyes went wide at the sight of me. Yes, bitch. Respect me. "What the fuck are you wearing." He said. "I don't think it's your business to question my choice of clothing. We have more important things to attend to than your silliness. I have my kingdom to rule." I retorted with self-assurance. He seemed evidently taken aback by my tone and by my words.
"Your kingdom?" He said angrily. "Get one thing straight, Erebus. I was handed the throne temporarily and in a couple of years, i'll be Queen of Hell. Better get used to it." I said. "Come with me to the dining room. We have much to discuss." I ordered him and made my way to the dining room where breakfast was being served.
"Sit." I said and so he did. Yes, obey me. I dismissed the servants and cooks with a 'Thank you' and only Erebus and I remained in the room. "Erebus. As you know the portal between the in-between and the land of shadows has been tampered with, now until we find the person who aided them in the mission, I need our best fighters on the borders because it's going to get ugly." I told him.
Erebus stared at me and leaned back in his chair. "The first day you came in here, I knew you weren't cut out for the job, but now, you changed unexpectedly. What happened?" He inquired calmly. "It isn't any of your concern, Erebus. I am not your friend and I am not here to talk about my dramatic change in character. I'm trying to avoid having a massacre in the kingdom." I told him coldly.
Erebus had his jaw clenched. He hates, no, despises, being given any orders, but this time he knew I was right. "Do we have any connections with witches or warlocks?" I asked him. "Aurea Coven are our strongest connections and they owe your father a debt." He stated. "Perfect. I want their leader and his strongest witches for negotiation." I told him as I sipped on my tea.
"What do you have in mind, Thana?" He asked. "Well, since you're the only person here who is able to bring me these people i'm going to have to tell you." I set my cup on the table and folded my napkin. "You see, Erebus. I have intel that states that the Elder witches are looking to resurrect a bunch of angry witches from the night of the battle." and as soon as those words left my lips, Erebus jumped out of his chair, causing the table to shake.
"Erebus what the hell? The tea could have spilled and burned me!" I exclaimed. "They can't do that-" he started to say and I cut him off. "Yeah I know, they'll want revenge and will inflict harm on me, who they think is the cause of their death yada yada yada." I waved my hands.
Erebus stared at me in a confused manner. "Thana that isn't what's going to happen. Resurrected witches will become something called 'The Dark Figures'. Once resurrected, they cannot be killed again. They do not hold just any magic, they hold Black magic, and not the voodoo black magic and that type of shit, they're much more dangerous. Dangerous enough to take over hell and rule however they wish." He explained and all sorts of feelings found their way into my stomach, and I felt like vomiting. Drakos and Maeva were lying to me. "The Elders aren't looking to save the witch race from extinction, or at least that isn't their main purpose... They want the kingdom for themselves." I said.
Now you may say that I cannot trust Erebus, but his eyes, his posture, his words, they sound like nothing but truths.
Suddenly the french doors in the dining room flew open and strong wind blew in. "EREBUS!" I screamed. The blue sky turned an extremely dark gray and thunder resonated in the room. The wind died down and the french doors closed once more. The only thing that came of this havoc was a single letter with the crest of my loyal servant.
I advanced towards the letter carefully, and I felt Erebus's eyes watching me. I broke the red wax seal and my eyes met with cursive handwriting.
Thana,
you are in grave danger. Lucifer has been captured by the Lost Souls on his way back from hell. All I can say to help you is that you must bring the strongest warlock and make him perform "The Quelling Spell".Your Loyal Servant
I was stunned and my eyes stayed watered. Although he never acted as my father, I still felt a nagging feeling inside of me. I had to get him back. Out of nowhere, Erebus's hand clutched my arm. He pulled me closer so that his lips touched my ear. "You can cry, Thana. I know what it's like to be on the verge of losing a father. No matter how bad he was. Regardless of the fact that he is Lucifer himself.
I wiped my tears and pushed myself away from Erebus. "I'm not going to sit and cry this time. I have had enough of that. We're going to find Lucifer and we're going to save his sorry ass." I said. "Hand me your phone. I have someone to call." I commanded and he obliged. "Don't get used to me being your bitch, but for the first-and hopefully the last time, I agree with you." Erebus smirked and just as I was about to exit the room Erebus said something unexpected. "And for the love of Lucifer, please change that dress, If i'm going to have to look at your body one more time, i'll have to bathe in ice for at least a couple of hours." He groaned.
"My body. My house. My clothes. My choice. Be a big boy and keep it in your pants." I winked and left Erebus struggling. I felt his eyes glued to my ass so I immediately I raised the middle finger in the air and I the last thing I heard was Erebus's fading laughter, before I entered Lucifer's office.
