My tardiness in writing is beginning to annoy me.

It just dawned on me that I have Midterms and I just want to cry.

Chapter 21- Steamy Closet Moments

"You want to go to heaven, right?" As a child, I have been asked this question repeatedly by the sisters when I refused to pray and attend church. This question is used as a manipulative mean to get children to complete spiritual tasks and behave. But have we ever stopped to wonder what hell and heaven actually are?

We hear stories and tales about a dark fiery place, a daunting, malevolent, endless pit where flames devour your skin, whole. Where snakes prick your flesh and release venom into your soul, seeping through you. However, heaven is that wonderful land, full of fruits and clear waters. A place where your mind is at ease and rest, envisaging and sulking in a striking blue sky, and walking on clouds of splendor.

I anticipated the journey to hell like a woman anticipating a telegraph from her husband in WWII.

Little light entered the room from the drawn curtains. I let out an exasperated sigh and fell on the bed. "What the hell should I do now?" I groaned out loud. I stood up and decided to pick what to wear for the day. Walking slowly to the Walk-in closet, I swam through the piles of clothes. Where are all the clothes, goddamit!? I found a plaid skirt and paired it wit a black turtle-neck blouse. I tried them on, but didn't like how they turned out. I took the clothes off and threw them across the room. I let out a frustrated cry and closed my eyes. I wasn't mad about the clothes, I was mad at the fact that I was picking out clothes while the world fell apart around me.

I suddenly felt exposed. I felt a pair of eyes rake over my figure. My eyes quickly flew open to be met with Erebus. Standing with a smirk on his face. I gulped. Unable to move. "I despise your very existence, but I can't seem to lose this attraction I have towards you." He said in a low and dangerous tone which caused me to shiver. "Erebus." I tried to say confidently but my voice betrayed me, so I decided on staying silent. Move, Thana. Cover yourself at least. I argued with myself, but somehow, Erebus's eyes kept me glued to the floor.

"Sinful black lace covers the parts I want exposed most." He chuckled. This is disrespectful to you, Thana. Say something! "Stop this non-sense, Erebus, and get out." I said sternly but my voice ended a bit high-pitched. Finally! Gain some power, sis. My conscience retorted. "Tsk. You know something, Thana? When you lie, your voice gets a little high pitched and your eye-twitches." he told me. My eyes widened. "How cou-" I started to say, but he cut me off. "Thana, you lie to yourself. You convince yourself that you hate me, but we both know you long for a touch from my fingers." he stated bluntly. "Have you no shame?" I pointed out. Then my mind wandered somewhere I didn't want it to.

My eyes skimmed over Erebus for a split-second. He was handsome, no doubt. Any woman would fall to her knees for him. I shamelessly chewed on my lips as I stared at his facial features. His messy brown hair toppled on his head, his piercing eyes, his godly lips. Stop this, you dim-wit! Then Erebus stepped closer. One foot after the other until he had me cornered. I stared at him. "Dark haired beauty, you kill me sometimes. You make me want to bow down and kiss the floor you walk on." he spoke softly. I never knew Erebus was capable of pulling off such a soft tone. He's literally telling you that he's willing to kiss the floor you walk on, and you're thinking about his tone? FOCUS.

Erebus then kissed his knuckles and brought them up to stroke my cheek. I sucked in a deep breath. His eyes penetrated the barriers and walls I put up in my mind to block him. His other hand stroked my bare thigh, reminding me that I was still in a bra and panties. The feel of his fingers brought back the sensation of fire from the dream. This was wrong.

I knew it deep inside. I was supposed to make an alliance with him, not have an affair. "Just please leave, Erebus." I said in a mere-whisper. His lips inched closer to mine and our breaths entwined. "We both know you don't want me to." He told and our lips were tauntingly touching, my eyes fluttered closed, but the kiss never came. Then I felt cold air hitting my body, and just like that, Erebus was out of sight. I slid down to the floor and hugged my knees. "This isn't what I expected my life to be..." I sighed.

Then another thought occurred to me. Lucifer had a backstory, one which included me, but I haven't the faintest idea of Erebus's past life or backstory.

My chain of thought was interrupted by the demonic bird that always bursts into flames when I get his letters. I wonder what actually happens with this bird? By now, I was acquainted with the deliver and roast method so I remained calm. I took the letter from the bird and thanked it this time. Before bursting to flames, the bird came closer and gently rubbed his feathers against my face. His action made me chuckle. "You're a cute little bird, aren't you?" I asked and then the flames devoured him.

I opened the letter.

"Dress nicely. I'm taking you to dinner. We have to meet the leaders of the coven."

I lifted myself off the ground and stood face to face with the clothes. "Now girls, we have to work together. Try to be nice, please?" I told the clothes and initiated my quest of finding a suitable dress.
