This is the first fluff I've ever written and it's pretty bad, but you can read it if you really want. I hope you don't stop reading my book because of how bad this one is, because it will get better. Thank you (*˘︶˘*)..:*

You had known Izuku since you could walk. It's been a friendship that was filled with adventure and kindness from your best friend. He had always treated you kindly and he always remembered the little details of your life. He was good about that, keeping track of things. He would write in his notebooks and mutter to himself almost endlessly, something that was endearing and sweet.

You remember the day his world shattered into a million pieces in a second, the day he learned he would be quirkless for his entire life. You weren't there when he got the news, but you might as well have been.

You were at the park when Izuku walked by, following Bakugo and his goons with an empty expression on his face. Bakugo was busy showing off his quirk by making sparks in his hands and making fun of Izuku.

"You're nothing but a quirkless loser, Deku! People like me are born for greatness. To think you actually thought you could be as good as me," Bakugo laughed. Izuku said nothing in reply, and slowly walked over to you. There were tears in his eyes, and you could tell that was one more rock onto his mountain of troubles. You quickly hugged him, tightly and closely, to make sure he didn't feel alone.

"Izuku, you don't need a quirk to be awesome," you said suddenly, "I already know you are. And you can still be a hero in the future, I know it!"

"I-I don't know [Y-N], it's like Bakugo said... I'll never be as good," and with those words tears flooded from his eyes, his small, trembling shoulders shrinking into himself.

There was nothing you could say to him, you were only four at the time. When you look back you know all the other things you should have said. But it doesn't matter now, because the greatest thing that had ever happened to him just occurred.

"[Y-N]! Open up your door! I have something incredible to tell you!" You heard his small voice say from your front door. Izuku lived only three apartments down from you so you saw him often.

You opened the door and immediately Izuku rushed in, his excitement making him forget his manners. "What is it Izuku?" you inquired. His cheeks were even redder than usual, and the biggest smile you've ever seen on him stretched across his face.

"UA! I got an acceptance letter and video from UA! I'm going to my dream school, [Y-N]!" He shrieked at the top of his lungs. You had never seen him so excited. His happiness was contagious though, and you felt warmth all of your body. His cheeks were bright red and his eyes were so wide that they seemed to engulf his whole face. His infectious smile spread to you, leaving you with a wide grin that matched his.

"Izuku! I'm so happy that you got in! I always knew you would." You squealed. You each hugged each other, even though it was awkward due to your older ages and different bodies. He was so happy that tears were streaming down his face.

But then a rush of sadness came upon you. You realized that things would most certainly change, since he was going to the best school in Japan and you were moving on to a regular high school. The person who knew everything about you would no longer be a desk away from you. You didn't know what you would do without him. And on top of that, you didn't want a different friend. Not only would it be exhausting to get to know a whole new person, but they would never match Izuku. In that moment he realized it too, though it seemed to affect him less.

"Izuku, what if we never see each other? I mean you'll be busy with hero stuff and I'll just be studying calculus. I mean UA is so far from where my school is, and I'm worried we'll grow apart," you said meekly. He understood completely, and his awkward demeanor came back from hiding after he calmed himself down.

"Well, I know that we'll see each other much less now. And it's gonna be hard since you're my best friend. But we still live close, and it's not gonna stop us from being friends," he replied. You doubted that you would see each other that much anymore, but you knew that your friendship would prevail.

"I'll trust you on this. But you better promise to not get yourself killed doing hero work!" You shouted, trying to sound serious. He laughed awkwardly, and hugged you, deeper this time. His curly hair tickled your cheeks, and you knew that it would be okay.

————————————————————————

It was the first day of school for Izuku, and you didn't expect to see much of him from now on. You walked to school, a private high school not that far from your home. You stared at the sidewalk as you shuffled to school, reminiscing of all the times Izuku and you had walked on this sidewalk together.

But as you were contemplating your future, a hand grabbed your shoulder as you were on your way to your own school. It was Izuku, and he had a small grin, or rather grimace, on his face.

"[Y-N], I-I wanted to t-tell you something," he stuttered. You looked closer and noticed he looked nervous, scared almost.

"Yes, Izuku?" you answered.

He swallowed the lump in his throat and shook his head. "I-it doesn't matter. Forget I said anything," he started to turn but you grabbed him, looking him in the eye.

"Now you have to tell me. I'm your best friend, you owe me that at least Izuku."

"F-fine! I just wanted to say that you're one of the main reasons why I want to become a hero! It's people like you that I want to protect; and you're the only one who supported me since before I can remember," he blurted. "Even when my own mother had her doubts, you were the voice that told me that I could make it still. And now look at me! I couldn't have dreamed of a better way to start my life. And it's all because of you." You looked at him in shock, his face going red. He looked down, worried for a bad rejection.

You grabbed his hands and looked him in the eyes. "Izuku, I supported you because I knew you would be a hero. There was no doubt in my mind that you could do it. And here you are now," you said encouragingly. Tears stung your eyes because you meant every word, you knew he was the one who could protect you.

He smiled weakly, and began to say something, when you kissed him softly on the lips. But it was enough to make his knees buckle and for him to sweat. You and him had always had a small thing for each other, and in a way this was confirming that.

"W-what was that f-for, [Y-N]?!" he squealed. You laughed and said nothing; just looked at him and hugged him goodbye. You parted ways, occasionally looking back at him until you could no longer perceive his form.

And with that, he was off to pursue his destiny.

Hey! So I know some of this is somewhat inaccurate because Deku never really talked to girls before UA, but it is just fiction. Sooo, thank you for reading. Please suggest!

And I'm sorry it's so short, that's why I need suggestions.
