"Y/N, I'm gonna need you to come in this evening."
"What why?"
Your boss had called you, minutes after you had gotten off of your morning shift. This evening was supposed to be your first night off in two weeks. It was safe to say that you weren't happy at all.
"Someone responded to our help wanted ad, so we're gonna have you train him."
"Yes ma'am. I'll see you at 5:30," you sighed. You hung up the phone and rolled your eyes.
Your pulled into the parking lot of the diner you worked at. You were ten minutes early so you could mentally prepare yourself. It was a Friday night, and it would be busy. Not to mention you had to train someone tonight, too. You put on your customer service face, got out of your car, and entered the diner. You looked around and saw a bunch of customers already, and dreaded your upcoming shift.
You entered the breakroom and punched in.
"Good, you're here," your boss said. "The trainee has already been here for like five minutes. It's kinda weird. He's sitting in the booth by the kitchen door, go say hi."
"Okay," you replied. You didn't know why he would get here so early, but you decided not to question it.
You walked out and looked for him in. A guy with spiky, red hair, pointy teeth, and big eyes was staring blankly at the seat across from him. Well, at least he's cute.
You walked over and waved at him. His train of throught was lost, but he still waved back. "I'm Y/N. I'm gonna train you tonight."
"My name is Eijiro Kirishima. It's nice to meet you."
"It's nice to meet you, too. Well, since you're here we can start. Follow me."
As you made your way to the waiter's station, you made small talk. "So what made you want to enter the lucrative busniess of being a waiter? Was it the money?"
He laughed, and responded, "No, my parents wanted me to help them with the bills, and since I'm not able to earn money as a hero yet, I just decided to spent my free time working."
"So noble," you smiled. He was nice, that much was obvious. But you needed to find out more.
"So you're a hero? What's your quirk?"
"Yes, I'm training at UA. It's my first year. And my quirk is hardening." He hardened his arm, showing off to you.
"That's cool. I don't have a quirk."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing? I can still do things."
His face turned bright red. "You're right, you can do a lot of things. I'm sorry I said that. It's just that I don't know what I would do without mine," he explained. You raised an eyebrow at him. "Sorry. I shouldn't have said that either. I'll just stop talking."
You grinned, saying, "I'm just messing with you, calm down. It takes more than that to offend me. You can talk if you want."
He let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, good. Tonight would be long for both of us if you hated me. It's probably gonna be long for you since you're training me."
"Oh whatever. Just come take this order with me."
You went up to the customer, Kirishima standing directly behind you. You did what you always did, smiled, then took the order to the cook.
"Wow, your voice sounds way different when you're talking to customers."
"Yeah, it makes me sound nicer. And they're not just any customers, they're old customers. You gotta talk loud and use a higher voice so they can hear you. And you have to say please and thank you. Basically there's a lot of rules for old people that you learn as you do this job."
