Listen here folks, I'm gonna be self-indulgent and write a chapter on my all-time favorite character. Idk if I would be able to get a chapter out any other way. This is kind of a college au. Also the picture at the top is what I imagine his glasses to look like.
How is everyone doing? I've gotten back into weight training so I can barely move rn, but i'm fairly happy. Y'all like online school?
Okaay now that the mom moment is over, i'll get into the chapter :)
also this might be multiple parts hehe so stay tuned angels
You sighed and looked at the time. You were anxiously awaiting Hitoshi's arrival to class. He was going to be late, just like he had been every other day this week. It was unlike him. Usually he rolled in right as class started, a hot cup of black coffee in his right hand and his bag in his left.
You thought of the way he would have to push his hair back up over and over as he turned the pages of his textbook, moving it so he could see. His hair typically stood up on its own, but it seemed like the more tired and bored he was, the more it deflated. You thought that was cute. You thought everything he did was cute, though. His hair was no different. Just like his hair, his glasses were always falling to the edge of his nose when he was focused. They were black-rimmed on the top with wiring on the bottom.
It was your junior year of college. You had gone to the same high school as Hitoshi, but never talked to him. Only when you realized you were taking the same classes in college, did you two start to connect. Before that point, you just had a crush on him. You never thought of attempting to talk to him, but luckily for you, he initiated contact first.
At this point, he was like your best friend. He was crazy good at science and math, so he always helped you study. Slowly, the study time turned into time where you would just hang out on your own right.
You never tried to deny your feelings for him, especially since they had been present since you were young. However, you felt like he would never like you. So instead of trying to get more from him, you decided to be content with your friendship. You felt like you would ruin it if you tried anything else.
Your professor had started her lecture, and you were starting to lose hope of seeing Hitoshi today. You pushed the thought aside and took out your notebook to take notes.
Twenty minutes into the class, Hitoshi finally stalked in. You could tell by his outfit and hair that he had probably woken up late and desperately hurried to get ready, and immediately ran to class. He was wearing a light tan knit sweater, a white button-up under it, and black pants. He looked big and muscular in those clothes, which hugged him nicely. The main thing, though, was how wrinkled his pants were, and how his collar was sticking up. Normally he wouldn't let that slide.
It was a far cry from his usual self.
The professor ignored him and continued talking as his head sank low to avoid attention. He quietly set his things down beside you and fell into his chair, breathing heavily. You wanted to ask him why he was late, but you didn't want to interrupt.
You kept staring at him as he pulled out a pen and started scribbling in his notebook. His glasses slid to the end of his nose, and he absent-mindedly pushed them back up. You smiled to yourself, then went back to paying attention.
You decided you had to get to the bottom of what had been bothering him this week. He was usually very put together and thorough, but recently something was off. You just had to know why.
The lecture dragged on, but finally it was over.
"Hitoshi, are you aware that your collar is sticking up?" You asked. His face turned a little red as he straightened it.
