There were two rules for your dorm room. One was it had to be clean. The other was it always had to have food. Always. The second rule was in place so you wouldn't have to go down to the kitchen every time you got hungry in the middle of the night.
One day, you noticed you had ran out of food. To your dismay, it also happened to be while you were sick and looked miserable. So you'd have to go out looking like garbage. Not unusual, eh? You joked to yourself.
You got out of bed, your head throbbing. You had purple pajama pants with grey kitty faces on them. You wore a huge sweatshirt that you stole from a guy at your old school. Your hair was in a messy bun, although it was barely recognizable as an actual bun. Half of your hair at the back had fallen out and was somewhat stuck to your neck from sweat.
Upon seeing yourself in the mirror, you nearly screamed. "Why do I look like that?" You whispered to yourself. Your face was pale and puffy. I better not run into anyone on my way there. I'll have to blackmail them or something.
You slipped on flip-flops and grabbed your purse. You stepped out the door quietly so you wouldn't alert anyone. It was a weekend, so most people were out or training. Perfect time to go out to the grocery store without being noticed.
You couldn't be bothered to walk, so you called a taxi. As you rode, you checked your phone.Even though you blew up Kaminari's phone, he wasn't texting you back. Which was weird for him. He always texted back quickly with some weird response. But it had been an hour since you first texted him. You sighed and turned off your phone. You thought of all the ways that you might have upset him, and started worrying. Damn anxiety. It's fine.
You wiped some sweat off your forehead. You felt cold shivers go down your whole body, causing you to shudder. You put on your hood and pulled the strings tight, thanking god that you were almost there.
You paid your fare and stepped out of the car. Your bones ached and you wondered if this was how Izuku always felt. You walked into the small grocery store and stood in the blast of the cool air for a minute.
As you browsed for snacks and food, your brain drifted off to strange places. You swore you saw a guy who was dressed as Spider-Man in the soup aisle, but it was probably just your fever talking. You shoveled all sorts of tasty foods into your basket with reckless abandon. You hurried down the aisle, and as you turned the corner to go to the next area, you walked straight into a guy carrying a crate. "Oof," he said, as he fell to the floor. You rubbed your eyes and realized that it was Denki.
"Y/N?" He laughed, picking up his dropped items. You helped him up and remembered what you looked like at that moment. Blood rushed to your face for the first time that day.
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be bothering Bakugo or something?" You sniffled.
"Uh, I work here," he explained, rubbing the back of his neck. You looked at his bright blue polo and name tag that read 'Danki.'
"Oh ok. Danki?" You laughed hoarsely.
"My manager misspelled my name. Fits me better though, don't you think?" He said. You rolled your eyes and shifted your basket on your waist.
"I didn't know you could keep a job for more than a week."
"I'm goin' three weeks strong with this one!" He boasted. You giggled at his odd bragging. "And uh, are you okay? You kinda look... good but not?" He tried not to say you looked like a homeless person.
"I'm sick, Danki. And thanks?"
"Well if it helps any, I think you still look cute this way," he laughed. Your face ran red for a moment, and you looked at your shoes bashfully.
"Whatever. I'll let you work though. Sorry for blowing up your phone earlier," you said, walking off and waving. Denki followed though, holding one of his hands out.
"Well at least let me carry your groceries for you, sick kid." He took your basket effortlessly. You worried he would judge you for buying junk food, but he didn't even seem to notice. He was smiling at you and cracking jokes while walking.
After you checked out, he carried your bags out until you were outside the store. "Thank you," you said, taking the bags.
"Thank you, please come again. You made my shift a little more bearable," he smiled. You blushed again, and walked off, completely forgetting to call another taxi. Denki watched your figure walk off, and when you were out of view, he let out a happy sigh. Cute, he thought.
You held your phone to your chest, clinging to it like it was Kaminari himself. You were back to the security of your dorm, and all you could think about was your next run-in with him.
