Oh, how you loved summer. It was a time where you could relax, calm down, and train in peace. Of course, living in the dorms made it so it wasn't as peaceful as it would normally be at your parents house, but it meant no classes and no logical ruses. Well, less logical ruses.
In the world heroes, it's obviously very important to be healthy and in top shape, so you always did everything you could to be healthy. But of course, there were times where your body decided it would be great to self destruct and make you sick. Sicker than sick even.
You had the flu. While your classmates and friends went out and went shopping or went swimming, you were in your dorm in bed. At least the dorm was quiet and you could sleep in peace.
You woke up coughing, rattling your whole body mercilessly. You sat up, your head throbbing. Your throat was scratchy and dry, making it hard to breath. You stood up, swaying side to side. You grabbed a blanket, wrapped it around yourself so you looked like you were wearing a cloak, and gingerly made your way down to the kitchen area. Maybe there's medicine down there, you thought hopefully.
When you made it down to your destination, the light from the windows nearly blinded you. You hadn't seen the sun ever since you came down with the flu so it was a big shock.
As you hobbled to the cabinets and scavenged for anything, even a just a cough drop, you heard a noise behind you, and your skittish ways got the best of you. You spun around and backhanded someone in to face. But you saw green hair, freckles, and hands thrown up in defense. You coughed hard and dropped your fists. "Hi, Midoriya, are you okay? I'm really sorry. I thought you were Bakugo or something," you groaned.
"Y-y/n?" He gasped. "What happened to you?" His eyes searched your face with worry.
"I have the flu, Izuku. I know I look rough but you don't have to react like that," you coughed. His face turned bright red and he looked down at his feet.
"I'm so sorry, it's just I've never seen you any way but smiling and happy," he explained, intertwining his fingers within one another. You smiled softly and nodded.
"Oh alright. Well I was just looking for some medicine. I woke up with a headache and it hasn't gone away," you said. His face brightened and he put his hand on your arm.
"That's perfect, because I have a lot of pain medicine in my room. Do you want me to go fetch it?" He asked. You nodded and trudged to the couch, plopping yourself down.
"I'll be here," you mumbled as he darted to his room. You were left in a haze of soft feelings and pink clouds. Or maybe pink feelings and soft clouds. You didn't know, but that was the only way to describe how you were feeling. His generosity was always a strong trait about him, and while it made you feel grateful to have such a friend, you were mostly thinking about how well he could take care of someone. You wished he would take care of you too.
The sound of footsteps behind you and the rattling of a pill bottle brought you down to reality as you saw him come back. Izuku appeared in front of you and smiled as he handed you a glass of water and unscrewed the bottle. You took the pills and downed the whole glass of water. "Are you ok, Y/n?" He asked.
"I think I'll be alright," you said sleepily. He nodded and started to walk back to his room.
"Okay, well I'll leave you to it," he said as he walked. You looked at his stiff back and considered how nice it would be if you had some company. That way your suffering might be just a bit more bearable.
You tried to call out, but your voice had given out. You forced yourself to get up so you could catch up to him, but he was walking too fast. By the time you had caught up, he was in his room and the door was closing behind him. You knocked on the door, and it opened almost immediately.
"Oh! Y/n, what are you doing back here?"
He asked. His face was confused and his brows were stitched together. He looks cute when he's confused, you thought. His face wasn't fit for anything but a smile. Things like a grimace made it look odd.
You cleared your throat roughly, and attempted to speak. "I was wondering," you coughed, "if you could keep me some company. At least for a little while."
He looked slightly like his privacy was being infringed upon, but he nodded and let you in. Once in his warm room, you let your blanket fall to the floor. You looked around quietly, and didn't know what to say. While it was very bold and out of place for you to request the company of someone, it was all you wanted at this time. But still, you felt guilty. His red face reflected how embarrassed he was to have a friend, a girl even, in his All Might themed room.
"I-I'm sorry," you stuttered, your voice scratchy and quiet. "I shouldn't have come here." You reached for your blanket and started towards the door, but you felt a hand on your back. You turned around and saw Izuku's red, slightly smiling face.
"No, don't leave. P-please let me take care of you, y/n," he nervously requested. You smiled and let him guide you to his bed. You lay down and watched him bring his comforter up to your chin.
"If you need anything, I'll be right here, okay?" He said. You brought your hand out from under the covers and grabbed his gently. His hand was trembling as you brought it up to your cheek. You leaned your face into his surprisingly soft hands. What is she doing?! He asked himself.
"Mm, your hands are so cold. Feels good," you cooed. His sweet blushing cheeks endeared you beyond words. He started stroking your hot cheek with his thumb and a smile tugged at his lips. The touch that he always wanted was finally right at his fingertips.
You grabbed his other hand in yours and intertwined your fingers in his. His scared demeanor remained, but he couldn't deny that you made him feel happy.
You suddenly pulled him down so he was laying right next to you. You both laughed uncontrollably because of how sudden you did that.
Once you calmed down and it was silent again, his face reddened as he realized how close you were. You could feel his breath on your skin, and you were close enough to count all of his freckles. His green eyes vibrantly shone, even though the room was dim.
He stared into your e/c eyes and subconsciously bit his bottom lip. His eyes traveled down to your soft lips and he could barely stop himself from kissing you. He decided to take a leap of faith, and leaned in to brush his lips against yours.
"Don't," you whispered. His face turned to a deep scarlet as he realized what he was doing. I should have asked her first. That was so wrong of me! Izuku you idiot! He cursed in his head. He looked away from your eyes, afraid you would slap him and leave him to be alone and cold in his room.
"I'm so s-sorry. I should have asked... god what is wrong with me," he muttered. "Why would you even want to do that with me, that's crazy to even think-" he rambled, before being cut off by your finger to his lips.
"No it's not that. The truth is Izuku... I really like you. I do. You're handsome and smart and so incredibly nice. I just really don't want to get you sick," you stumbled over your words, attempting to calm him down. His heart pounded in his chest at a million miles per hour. A girl liked him! A girl that he likes even! He sighed heavily, relieved that he hadn't made you uncomfortable.
"Are you sure?" He asked cautiously. You nodded best you could without making your head throb even more. You sniffled a little bit, and reached up to caress his face. His skin was soft, just like his hands.
"Of course," you started, "I wouldn't mind kissing you. That is if you wouldn't mind getting what I have."
His face turned red once more and he couldn't speak. He bit his lip again, a thing that drove you towards the edge, and mustered up the courage that he had only minutes ago.
He bent his head closer to yours, and brushed lips with you. The soft contact only made you want it more. He finally went in, and made full contact with your lips.
He moved gently and slowly, not trying anything he deemed inappropriate. His hand brushed back a stray piece of your hair, then stayed on your cheek.
When he pulled back, he smiled brightly. You smiled back, feeling very sleepy. "You should get some rest," he said sweetly. You nodded and complied, resting your head on his arm.
Once you had finally fallen asleep, Izuku started to feel a little bit drowsy as well. I guess she got to me too, he thought. He closed his eyes and inhaled your scent once more, before letting himself drift off and dream of more times with you.
