The door to the cold basement you were held captive in slammed open. The villain, or Reo, was holding something behind his back. He had a wide grin on his face and a crazy look in his eye. You quivered and looked up at him innocently, trying to silently coax him to leave you alone.

Of course, it didn't work and he continued to approach you. Finally, he pulled out a long board with nails hammered into one end. The sharp points stuck out and had dried blood on them. Whose blood is that?!

"This might give you a reason to shut up. I don't want you asking more questions, or else," he smacked the board into your knee with great force, "you'll have hell to pay for it." You screamed with pain and tears seeped out of your eyes. You felt your kneecap shatter. The board made a pluck sound as he pulled it out.

You let out a bellowing groan from your gut from the pain, and tried to make no noise. It was impossible though, the searing pain felt like lightning bolts to your brain and you couldn't help but at least whimper. He laughed at you, your limp leg, and the tears running down your face and onto your shirt.

You wanted to escape and hit him with all your force. You wanted to rip his mask off and steal his drivers license. Even though that wouldn't help you escape, you wanted more than anything to see his mind, why he was doing this and whether or not he really planned on ending your perfect light.

I can't die. If I did Toshinori would never forgive himself. He'd fall apart. The villain sat back down in his chair and continued to smile. It's like violence brought him pleasure, or who knows what went on in the depths of his mind.

You let your body go numb from the tightly bound chains and placed all your faith in All Might. He was the only one who could save you now, and all you could do was wait.

•••

4 hours till the deadline.

Toshinori jumped from building to building, not resting or taking a moment to think. He knew where you would be, but the issue was how far away that place was. It takes about ten hours to find it from where the apartment is, and on top of that it's very well concealed, nearly impossible to find.

Even as the most powerful man in the world, it would be extremely difficult to find that place in time, it had been so long since he'd been there. Sweat ran down his forehead as he grabbed railings to rooftops and used them as leverage for his next leap.

3 hours till the deadline.

•••

Reo looked at his watch and grinned, ear to ear. "Only 3 hours till the deadline, Y/N. He's taking his time, isn't he?" He sneered.

"Shut up," you retorted quietly. He let out a guttural laugh and threw his head back.

"It seems I've broken your spirit. Not surprising, you seemed broken in the first place."

"We had a happy life," you growled. "We were going to start a family. We were going to buy a house. We loved each other!"

"Ah, this is great to hear. What a perfect time to ruin his life. It's a shame you didn't already have kids, though. I'd like to hear their reaction to the news of mommy's death!" He snorted. Rage grew in you like fire, and your fight was back.

"How could you be so cruel? What gives you the right to break my life in two like this?!" You screamed.

He raised the bloodied board over his head and you shut your mouth instantly. You silently cried as he let the board back down and chuckled. "I like to see you suffer. Coward," he stated.

"I'm not the coward, you are! Hit me all you like, if I die today I don't want the newspapers to say I was helpless. I'm a fighter and I will fight!" You spat. In a flash, he slapped the board across your face.

Blood seeped down your temple, and your vision started to fade. Am I dying?

One hour till the deadline.

Toshinori's cell phone rang, just as he jumped off another building. He forced himself to land, not wanting to waste any more time. He picked it up to see a number he didn't recognize.

"Hello?" He answered.

"This is detective Fukui. We just got an email containing pictures of Y/N. I'll be sending them to you, but they're very graphic. Our only assumption is that they're from the criminal who kidnapped her," he stated.

"Fine," he huffed, hanging up. His phone chimed and he opened up the message, and was horrified at what he saw.

The first one was a photo of your entire body. The pants you had been wearing were torn open at the knee, and your leg was extended and limp. Blood pooled around the chair you were in. Your arms hung at your side with your hands brushing the floor. It was obvious you were passed out, since your head was hanging back and not able to be seen in the first picture.

The second photo was a closeup of your face, and it was worse than the first photo. Your mouth was ajar, and your eyes were barely open. The entire right side of your face was bloody and bruised, and there were holes in the skin where the nails had hit you. The other side of your face was tear stained and your makeup was smudged and covering your eyes.

He swallowed down a lump in his throat and snapped his phone closed. Don't be dead. He thought. He blasted off once again to race the clock, very close to where he thought you were.

•••

15 minutes till the deadline.

Your eyes peeled open and you saw rays of sunlight. Or what you thought was sunlight, until your vision cleared up and you saw your bloody leg and the feet of Reo. So it wasn't a nightmare?

The pain from earlier set in and you winced as you tried to crane your neck to look at his face. "How much time left?" You croaked.

"What?" He said, uninterested. "Oh. Fifteen minutes. No sign of him in sight," you sighed and accepted you would most likely be dead soon.

"When you kill me, please let it be painless," you requested.

He tapped his chin and looked up, pretending to be pondering the thought. "Hmm... depends on how these next couple of minutes goes. But that's not an unreasonable request, since I do want it do be done quickly. I wanna get out of here as soon as possible."

You let out a quivering breath and had something catch in your throat. Each breath seemed a struggle, and your breathing was uneven and raspy. "How long was I out for?"

"Nearly three hours," he answered. At least I didn't have to wait that whole time.

You continued to breath with great labor, and counted down the seconds in your head. You always thought you would die close to friends and family, after living a long, fruitful life.

2 minutes till the deadline.

"There it is!" He gasped out loud. He landed and sprinted down the dark alleyway. This was the place Toshinori had caught the villain all those years ago, and when they searched the area and went over things after he had been apprehended, they discovered a secret basement.

It was behind a garbage bin, and there was a long, winding staircase down into the tiny room. Inside was a plethora of League of Villains propaganda, pictures of several pictures of women that had been kidnapped and tortured, and two chairs. Lit by a solitary lightbulb. They cleaned the place out and only left the lightbulb and the chairs. When questioned about the room, he admitted that he was responsible for it and he owned it.

Yagi pushed the bin out of the way and smashed open the heavy door. He flew down the staircase and found the door leading to the basement and to his dismay, it was empty. The was just like they had left it. He let out a loud cry and kicked one of the chairs. "I'll never find her now! Oh god!" He yelled. He ran back up the steps, out of the alleyway and spotted a figure dressed in black running out of the alleyway directly across the street.

At that moment, he knew who it was. He sped over to him and tackled him. He tore of his mask to reveal Eito Tanaka. "Where is she?!" He screamed. His voice cracked and he rose his fist to hit him.

"I think you know, All Might," he cackled. Toshinori's head shot towards the alleyway that Eito had just appeared out of. "Maybe you can still save her!"

All Might's tears landed on Tanaka's face directly below his, his dastardly smile taunting him. He jumped off of the man and ran towards the alleyway. He saw an opening just like the one he had entered only moment earlier, and blasted down the steps. He ran into the room, and saw your lifeless body.

"No! NO!" He screamed as he came towards you and picked up your limp body. He took your wrist to feel your pulse, but there was nothing. He was too late. His stomach fell out of his body as he saw the blood seeping out of your abdomen. He had shot you, letting you bleed out alone in the basement.

He fell to his knees and let out an ungodly wail. He lost another person he loved, and he blamed himself. He heaved and nearly threw up with grief. He sat there with you in his arms, crying with ragged breaths.

"I'm so sorry, Tosh." The rain fell like heavy teardrops on his face. He blankly watched as they lowered your casket into the ground.

"Why, Dave?" He begged.

"She was too good for this world. We didn't deserve her," David Spade comforted. A single tear rolled down Toshinori's face.

"If this is what comes from love, then I'll never put another woman through this."

"It's not your fault, Yagi."

"Yes it is. I should have been there. I didn't have to go out that day, there was virtually no crime going on."

"She wouldn't want you to be hurting like this. Instead of mourning, fight. Fight for her. Use her as a reminder as to why you need to be a hero."

"I will, Dave."
