You had no idea how Mina dragged you into helping her plan a party in the class 1-A dorms. Much less a party that consisted of members from not only your own class, but several others as well. It was the opposite of your scene, your introverted ways made it impossible to enjoy things like parties.

The one bright side of this party planning was that you were in charge of who to invite, as well as the food. Now you could take this opportunity to invite people that would brighten up the party and that are good friends with various members of your class... or you could use it to try to get closer to Hitoshi Shinso, the boy that had caught your eye ever since the sports festival. You chose the latter.

But inviting only one other person from other classes would be too obvious, so you also invited Neito Monoma (despite his offhand comments), Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, Ibara Shiozaki, Itsuku Kendo, and Mei Hatsume, along with a few others that you knew people would enjoy.

Your stomach flipped a few times as you were out grocery shopping for food for the party, knowing that in a few hours, the boy you pined over from afar would be within touching distance from you. 'It's almost time,' kept repeating in your mind as you checked out, ignoring the absurd pricing of your groceries.

As you were walking back to your dorm, a familiar
head of purple hair appeared out of the corner of your eye, and you turned to see Shinso walking in the same direction as you. Before you could think, you said "Hey! It's Shinso, right? Funny seeing you here! I haven't seen you in a while." He had trained with you class some a while ago, and of course you saw him at the sports festival, but you had also sat next to him in the library a few times. The conversations you had with him were usually pleasant and long.

He turned to face you, and stopped. "Yeah that's right. And you're F/N L/N, right? It has been a while," he said dryly.

You shook off how bored he seemed to be talking to you, and asked, "Are you gonna come to the party tonight? I think it's gonna be pretty awesome!" He huffed a little and smirked some.

"Maybe I will. If I have some free time then it's a possibility," he responded. "Anyways, I've got to get back to my room." And with a small wave, he walked off. You let out a big sigh, relieved that it went in the second best case scenario. The best would be he confessed his love for you and swept you off your feet, the worst is saying he would rather die than go to your party.

So you walked on with a smile on your face, a spring in your step, and snacks in your arms. Tonight would have to go perfect, right?

It was 9:00 PM, and the last of the guests were starting to filter in, but of course the one person you were here for was absent. The party started at 8:30 and it was common for people to be fashionably late, but this made you want to bite your fingernails. 'I couldn't handle the embarrassment if he thought the party was too childish or boring!'

You decided to occupy yourself by going up to
your room to fetch some earbuds and your phone. Maybe he would still come, but until then you wanted to avoid Monoma's insults and Hatsume's ramblings about her babies.

As you walked into the common area where the party was being held, you found the least popular area of the room, and plopped down onto a chair. You put your earbuds in and played your favorite song, relieved that no one had tried to talk to you yet. If Hitoshi wasn't going to come, you might as well find another way to moderately enjoy yourself.

The truth was, tonight was going to be the night you told him how you felt. It would be perfect, if it went well you could enjoy the rest of the party discussing small unimportant things, if it went badly you could disappear into your room and avoid him for the rest of your life.

'The chances of him actually liking me are slim, since I hardly ever talk to him. It'd take a miracle...' you thought to yourself, discouraging you even more. 'But I have to be confident, just like him. Or else I'll end up looking like and idiot.'

Just as you thought these things and repeated them over and over, Mina approached you. "Hey! I think you did a really good job of inviting the right people, and the food is great!" she said bubbly. It brought a smile to your face, the fact that you could impress the ultimate party planner. She was the type who could have done your job much better.

As she was discussing many happy and interesting things with excitement, an uninterested face entered the room, drawing a few glances to him, but otherwise he was completely ignored. "Mina, could you excuse me for a sec? I'm so sorry," you said to her as you got out of your seat, making a B-line towards Shinso.

When he saw you steadily approaching him he raised his eyebrows and waved lightly. Your heart fluttered at the sight of him greeting you, causing you to perk up and walk with confidence. You felt a wave of sureness, when you suddenly tripped over someone's foot, with a drink dropping from their hand directly onto your head. The fizzy liquid ran through your hair and over your face.

'Oh god. I might as well go die in a hole now.' You mentally scolded yourself. To make things worse, an ice cube fell out and plopped on your head. A hand reached out to you, and you took it before noticing who it was.

"Are you okay?" Hitoshi asked you, chuckling to himself. You scrambled up, yanking away your hand in a way that you thought appeared rude.

"Oh shi-, I mean yes I'm fine. Th-Thank you," you said, your cheeks demonstrating a wide range of reds. The perfect outfit you had picked out was ruined, and your hair was sticky and falling out of place. "Um, I gotta go..." you said before dashing out of the room.

You didn't look back but you could feel Shinso's eyes staring at your back, causing your neck to feel a burning sensation, and little tears stinging your eyes. 'What am I crying for? I'm such a baby...'

You rushed into your room and slammed the door behind you, completely aware of how you were overreacting. You had reason to be upset, this was supposed to be an amazing night after all. But for some reason the embarrassment worked itself through your skin, itching at your mind.

A flood of tears erupted from your eyes, and you slid down against your door. You heaved your shoulders, letting out huge sobs. Maybe this weeping represented months of suppressing emotions, thoughts, and feelings, and that's why this was the breaking point.

After about ten minutes of crying, you got up and took off your clothes, trudging into the shower. 'Maybe after I clean up I can go back down and make a joke out of it... and try again.'

You got out of the shower and put on some clothes. 'Or I could stay here forever and never come out.' It was a tempting idea, so you decided that was your plan. You sprawled out on your bed and you were about to fall asleep when you heard a knock on your door. You thought nothing of it and decided to ignore it, sleep was more important than whatever disaster you thought someone would be here for.

But seconds later, they knocked again, more persistent this time. "This better be important," you grumbled. You got up out of bed and opened the door, and to your surprise it was Shinso, looking up and his hand rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh! Uhm, hey... what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be partying or something?" You said lightheartedly.

"Actually, a couple of your friends said they were worried after what happened. I volunteered to come check on you. And plus, I'm not a big party guy anyway," he laughed. Your heart melted at how caring he was, and you lowered your head and blushed.

"Yeah, same with me. I only agreed to take part in it because I owed Mina a favor. And I'm barely clinging on to life after that embarrassment, so in my terms, I'm pretty okay," you said, meeting his eyes. The vibrant purple orbs sent chills down your spine and made your knees weak, making you wonder how this lanky boy with a villain-like quirk made you turn into a puddle at his disposal.

"Well, I'm glad you're okay in your terms. I usually don't try talking to people I don't know well, people like you, but you're easy to talk to, you know?" He said, not showing signs of his statement being a big deal.

"Yeah, I think you're pretty easy to talk to as well," you smiled. 'Maybe tonight won't be such a train wreck.'

"Thank you," he stated simply. You both stood there in silence, contradicting what you both just said. "Well, I don't want to bother you... and it seems you're about ready to turn in anyway. I'll see you around," he said quickly, starting to turn. 'Don't just stand there, this could be your best chance!'

"Wait!" You called out. He turned around, arching an eyebrow. "You don't have t-to leave. I mean, if you want, I've got a couple of movies on my computer, and well, I would enjoy your company," you dared. "Just if you wan-"

But before you could finish, he interrupted you. "That might be fun. More fun than the party I mean. You better have my favorite movie though," he said nonchalantly, breezing past you. 'Oh god, it actually worked??!' You screamed internally. You tried not to let him see the little happy dance you did, but judging by the chuckle he let out and the hand going over his eyes, he definitely saw you.

You were too busy to concern yourself with whatever he did see or didn't see, your worst night ever had just turned into your best night ever. "Hey, do you want me to get some drinks and food or something?" You asked.

"Yeah, sure," he replied, not facing you. You casually walked out of your room, then raced down the hallway. 'Oh god oh god oh god oh god' you screamed to yourself. You'd never had an actual living breathing boy in your bedroom before, especially not one that you liked.

You slithered through the vast amount of people to grab some chips and soda, ignoring the few people joking about your ordeal not even an hour earlier.

You knocked on the door twice before letting yourself in, seeing Hitoshi sitting on your bed with a scrap of paper. "I got the foo-" you started before you saw what the paper was. Earlier in the week you had written down a rehearsal of your "confession of love" for Hitoshi, you had planned it to the finest detail, wanting everything to go perfect.

When he saw you come in he stood up sharply, dropping the paper. "Oh, uhm, I saw this lying on your desk. I promise I didn't read much. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to snoop," he apologized, blushing furiously. He did that cute thing where he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well, I guess I don't have to say it anymore," you joked. He laughed dryly and nodded.

"Yeah, I guess you don't," he said. "But I kind of had an idea that you felt this way. You don't hide your feelings very well," he said.

"I know, but at least I made an effort. My actual plan was to appear all cool and flirty at this dumb party. Then I biffed it and ruined it all. Well, almost ruined it," he laughed at the recent memory.

"Well, the truth is, I couldn't think of it going a better way. Truth is, I feel the same way. You just attract me. I don't know you very well, but I do know who and what I like, and I know I like you," he admitted. Your stomach dropped out of you. Never in a million years could you imagine him liking you the same way.

"You've got to be kidding me. Seriously? You should have told me earlier, dummy!" You joked, lightly hitting his shoulder. He laughed with you, the corners of his eyes crinkling and showing his teeth in a way that made you lose any words. You'd never seen him act so happy and uncontrolled, you liked this Hitoshi.

Then his smile ceased and his bit his lip. You looked him in his eyes and saw so many emotions and feelings, being happy that it went this way. "Well, we still got movies and food," he said, gesturing to the bed. "Shall we?" You rolled your eyes jokingly, and plopped on the bed. He sat down next to you as you put on the movie.

You leaned back against the headboard, patting the bed beside you. He leaned back and you snuggled up close to him, and inhaled his scent. 'Heaven' you thought 'I must have died and gone to heaven.'

"Y/N?" He called out.

"Yes?" You responded. You looked up at him, and you saw a dreamy look on his face. He leaned down and kissed you, a kiss with passion and it said all the words that had been left unspoken.

"Goodnight," he said, breaking off his kiss. You leaned even deeper into him, drifting off.

Your eyes drifted open to the sight of Hitoshi passed out next to you. The sunlight lit up his hair, making it look a vibrant, beautiful color of purple. You let out a satisfied sigh, letting the innocence and happiness of the night before comfort you back to sleep.

Hey, thanks for reading this one. Shinso is one of my favorite characters so I wanted to do a long one for him.

Of course the other characters deserve as much as this so I'll be working on long ones like this soon and they'll be out in no time!

As always, please leave suggestions so I can improve this book! 💜
