"You're gonna have to try harder than that, Hitoshi!" You giggled, jumping out of his grasp. You looked at his exhausted, flushed face and wondered if you were going too hard on him. Your quirk was especially good at evading.
"When I asked you to train, this isn't what I had in mind," he gasped. You were expertly avoiding his capture scarf, always getting out of the way at the very last second. Sweat beaded on his forehead, but you hadn't even shown the tiniest hint of breaking yet.
Earlier that day, you made a deal with Hitoshi Shinso.
"Hitoshi, if I train with you, will you take me on a date?" You cooed, sitting on his desk. His eyes brightened. He had wanted to train with you for months. You never did; you had better things to do with your time.
He leaned back in his chair, considering the pros and cons. There weren't any discernible cons to the situation, so he agreed. "Fine." You shook hands with him and agreed to meet in one of the free training gyms after school.
At this point, you had been going on for hours with him.
Your quirk was rather unique. Like Shinso's, it had to do with manipulating the mind. You could conjure up images and hallucinations that only he could see. It was a rough matchup for him. You provided images of yourself in his peripheral vision, while darting to and fro as you pleased.
"I just might have to use my quirk on you," he said, his voice dangerous. You wanted to respond, but you knew that he meant business.
You were waiting for him to figure it out. How he could beat you.
Most of your illusions were visual. While you could do auditory ones as well, they never seemed to work how you wanted. If he wanted to beat you, he would have to rely on anything but his sight.
"God dammit!" He yelled, throwing his scarf at yet another hallucination.
"You know we can take a brea-" you tried. White fuzz enveloped your brain as you froze in place.
"I got you." He appeared behind you, wrapping his scarf around your waist and arms. He walked around so he was in front of you, his face close to yours. You felt your heart do a somersault as he let a smile grow across his lips. "Got you," he whispered.
He pressed on your shoulder lightly with his fingertips, finally releasing you from his hold. You gasped for breath as the fog lifted from your brain and you could think clearly again.
"You can talk to me now. We're taking a break," he sighed, taking a seat on the floor, next to the wall.
"That was dirty, Shinso," you pouted.
"Well you've been messing with my mind all afternoon, so I don't think it was too out of place. Plus, I didn't make you do anything," he dared. You rolled your eyes and sat down next to him, your shoulder barely touching his.
"You still haven't figured out how to truly beat me yet, huh?" You said smugly. His breath caught as he glanced over at you.
"I thought I did just beat you," he mumbled.
"But you haven't figured out my quirk yet," you smiled. He sighed and stood back up, adjusting his capture scarf.
"Well don't tell me. Let me figure it out on my own. Come on, get up. Let's do this again," he grunted. He held out his hand for you to take, his face sure and solemn. You took his hand and let him hoist you up.
"Alright. Can I be honest with you, Hitoshi?" You asked.
"Sure, what is it?"
"I think you should focus on your capture scarf and fine-tuning that first. Your quirk is obviously very refined at this point - and we can work on that later. Just focus on capturing me without relying on your quirk," you explain, assuming your fighting stance. He looked at you for a moment, then nodded.
