Shinso stared at you, a concerned look in his eyes. He could always tell when you were upset, even if 90% of the time you wouldn't admit it. Because of this, he always did everything he could to make you feel better, loved even. "So... how was your day?" He asked. You sat in the chair nearby him. He watched your curled up body underneath a huge pillow. "It was okay," you said, picking at a piece of thread that had gone astray. You didn't really know what to say to him. You didn't know what was wrong, and you didn't want to seem vulnerable. You admitted to yourself that talking about it would be nice, but it was just hard. Shinso sighed softly. It wasn't an annoyed sigh, it was more of exasperation. He would ask you 100 times what was wrong, but you would probably get irritated with him around the third time. You avoided his gaze, but eventually you couldn't take it, and you looked over at him. His eyes were focused on you, analyzing every shift of your eyebrows and twitch of your lip. He took out his phone and looked at the time. It was already 10:30, and he knew you well enough to know that you would be tired by now. He forced himself to stand, and walked towards the bedroom. "You gonna come and sleep?" He asked. You shook your head and reclined further in your chair. You didn't know what to tell him other than you were just off today. He didn't really believe you. He just kept worrying about you. You watched him shrug and go to bed, then slumped into yourself once the door was closed. You stared out into nothing and let tears swell into your eyes. Something was wrong, but you didn't know what was causing your pain. It was the most confusing and painful feeling. You sat there for a long time, taking shallow breaths, trying to collect yourself. You heard your phone buzz from across the room. You wiped your tears and trudged over to it, checking your notifications. Strangely, Shinso's name was at the top. You read his text message. I really don't know how to talk sometimes, so I'll just let you listen to music, since I know it's your favorite thing. He attached a link, which you tapped on quickly. It took you to a playlist. You were kind of surprised that he was still awake to make this for you, but you hit shuffle and played his music, without headphones or a speaker. There weren't a lot of songs, but each one hit you like a ton of bricks. They were all so...like him. His personality came through strongly, and you cried again. But it was different this time. It was happy now. Hopeful. You had the music so loud that you didn't hear Shinso open the door. He was leaning on the door frame behind you, smiling at your reactions to his playlist. He couldn't see your face, but he could tell how it was affecting you. As the last song came to the end, he came up and sat next to you on the couch. You were sniffling and your face was red and puffy, but he still smirked at your face. He hugged you silently, petting your hair softly. "You don't always have to know what's wrong. I understand," he cooed. You smiled into his shoulder and your heart shuddered when he squeezed you. He was warm and smelled like his favorite cologne. "Do you wanna come to bed?" "Actually...can you hold me for a while? Right here?" You asked. He nodded and lay on his back, bringing you with him. You rested your cheek to his chest, and fell into a deep sleep.

Sorry this chapter is short. I'm trying to get back into this, since I quit my job and I have more time for school and sports and writing now.
