"What's this?" Izuku said to himself. He picked up an article of clothing from the floor of the commons area. He held it up in front of him and examined it. It was a jacket he recognized to be yours. Why would she leave this here? She wears it all the time, you'd think she'd be more careful with it.
He folded it neatly and held it to his chest, looking around for another girl to deliver it to you. He didn't want to impose on your privacy just to give it back to you. Who was he to do that anyway? He didn't want to be creepy. Anxious thoughts bounced around his brain, over-complicating something that wasn't complicated at all. He decided to take it to his room and keep it there until he saw you in a more appropriate setting, like school.
He set it down on his desk chair like it was made out of frail glass. He held up his hands in front of him, making sure it was secure. The last thing he wanted to do was ruin it in any way. This was an opportunity to show you that he was responsible and trustworthy. Ever since he dropped you during a training exercise he worried that you wouldn't trust him any more. You ended up breaking your wrist, and even though Recovery Girl healed you, he always felt like he wasn't trustworthy anymore, but he would never gather up the courage to ask you.
He sat nervously on his bed, staring at your jacket. He could visualize you wearing it, a thought that made him blush. Y/N always looks so pretty. I wish I could hug her, he thought to himself. He got up quickly and picked up your coat, starting towards the door. "This is ridiculous, anyone can deliver a jacket without it being creepy," he mumbled to himself. He got several feet before stopping in his tracks and turning back. He did this several times, debating to himself whether or not he should come to your dorm.
He stood still in the hallway, your jacket right in his arms. He could smell your scent on it, even though he wasn't trying to. He sighed, extremely conflicted on the inside. He was always awkward and over-excited around you, and he had no idea why you were still friends with him. He loved being around you, but he couldn't handle himself well enough to want to ever see you. If he saw you, he felt like he would blow it. His gut was doing nothing to tell him where to go, so he just rationalized it in his head. I'll just give it to her and leave. No conversation at all.
He finally started making his way to your room for real, blocking out all of the mini sirens going on in his head. He was coming up to your door, gathering up the courage to knock.
Izuku's wavering voice rang out from behind your door. "Y-Y/N?" He shouted. He woke you up from your nap, causing you to be more than a little grumpy. You tossed off your blankets and lumbered towards the door. He heard your heavy footsteps and his heart raced, sweat forming on the back of his neck. The door swung open, and a cool rush of air fell upon him. He was met face to face with the girl who made him blush, laugh nervously, and break his brain, all three of which he did when he saw your face.
"Hi, Izuku. What's up?" You yawned, rubbing your eyes. He continued to chuckle nervously. "Izuku?" He tried to speak but he just kept looking you up and down.
"J-jacket," he murmured, holding out the coat. You glared at him momentarily before taking it from him.
"Thanks... are you okay? You look really sick," you worried, tossing the jacket into your room on the floor. You turned to face him and studied his face.
He snapped out of his awkward trance and laughed once more. "Why are you laughing?"
You asked.
"Heh, I just thought of something funny," he explained. I have to get out of here. I'm starting to get flustered! He smiled at you, keeping a happy exterior while on the inside he was really panicking.
"Oh-kay... Thank you for bringing my jacket. I don't even know where I left it. I didn't know I even lost it in the first place," you laughed. He laughed back and clenched his fists tightly.
"Yeah, no problem. I gotta go," he mumbled quickly
"Alright, bye," you said.
"Byeloveyou," he whispered while walking off.
Your heart stopped. What did he say? "What's that, Midoriya?" You called out confidently. He stopped in his tracks and his stomach dropped like it would on a roller coaster. He didn't mean to say that. Sure, you made his heart loom with joy every time you touched him, and sure, he thought you were the best part of his days, and maybe he thought you lit up a room when you walked in, but he didn't love you, did he?
"Nothing, bye!" He tried to start running away, but you caught his arm. He could easily overpower you and pull away, but he didn't want to hurt you. He slowly turned to you, showing how red his face was. His lips trembled in fear.
"You didn't mean to say that, did you?" You sighed. Despite how surprising it was that he told you that, you would have minded if he actually meant it. Whether he felt that way or not, you found it terribly adorable how flustered he got around you. Though you didn't show it, you liked him. You liked his curly hair, his freckles, his tenacity, just him in general. You had the courage to tell him, but you didn't want him to freak out if you told him. So you kept it to yourself until you found it to be the right time. Maybe today was that time.
"I'm s-sorry. That was so weird of me," he said, pulling away. You pulled back, taking him into a hug. "What?" He screeched a little too loudly, confused by your affection.
"Oh, Izuku," you laughed. "You're adorable." His face found an even deeper shade of red than before.
"L-like adorable like a brother or something? A cousin? An uncle?" He searched for answers to a plain explanation.
"I'm not uncle-zoning you, Izuku. I really like you," you admitted. He shifted in your arms before slowly wrapping his own around you. He rubbed your back a little, loving your embrace.
"That's funny, I really like you t-too," he laughed.
"Really? I'm so surprised. You know, cause you hid it so well," you teased. He made a 'hmph' sound and squeezed you a little.
"I can't help it sometimes," he said. You laid your head on his chest and then looked up at him. He still had a blush on his cheeks, but he looked slightly less terrified. You could tell he was still nervous being around you. He looked down at you and smirked, his hands trembling. You faced up to kiss him lightly on the lips, taking his breath away. "W-What was that?" He gasped. You laughed and squeezed his waist.
"Just a kiss," you stated simply.
He was silent for a moment, before asking, "Could you do it again?" hesitantly. You laughed and kissed him again, longer this time. It was clear that he was inexperienced, and that possibly you were his very first kiss. You found this aspect very adorable and extremely innocent. He kissed you back more now, closing his eyes and holding you tight.
When you pulled back, all he could do was smile. "Wow," he laughed. "I could get used to this."
