"Wowwww, a party? That's awesome!" you said. Nejire smiled brightly at you and your friends. You looked over at Tamaki and you weren't surprised that he didn't look amused. "Tamaki, are you going?"
He looked you in the eye. You knew he wouldn't go. He didn't even need to answer that. "Sorry. I have some homework to do," he said, excusing himself from the conversation. He left the room. You felt bad. Tamaki was a great friend, and you wanted him to come to the party. It would make you so happy if he came. However, you knew he wouldn't go. So you thought of a different idea.
"Nejire," you said quietly. "Can we do something for Tamaki? Can we all get together and include him? We shouldn't invite anyone he doesn't know. I just feel bad that we never do things that he likes." She tapped her chin, considering it.
"That might be a good idea! He never hangs out with us unless it's just his friends. Which is hardly ever. Let's skip the party tonight and just have me, you, Tamaki, and Mirio come."
"Thanks," you smiled. She nodded and walked off, presumably to find Tamaki. The day continued on, and it wasn't long before your plans for the evening were confirmed.
You didn't wear anything special that night. You just wore leggings and a t-shirt like you always did after school. After all, you were only hanging out with your friends. As you looked at their laughing faces, you were glad you chose this over the party. Tamaki was able to laugh a little and feel somewhat comfortable, since there was no one else around.
Nejire, being the social butterfly she is, drove the conversation deeper by asking personal questions. "So we're all each other's best friends, right? Why don't we all share a secret we've never told anyone before? Just for fun?" You laughed nervously. Suddenly every interesting thing you'd ever done before vanished and you couldn't think of a funny secret to tell.
Mirio started. "Well my family knows, but I secretly really like anime. I watch it all the time. It's like an obsession," he laughed. You laughed along with him.
"Wow, boring secret from Mirio," Nejire stated. "Come on, any dark family secrets?" She prodded.
"I guess I have a secret door in my closet that leads to a secret little panic room? Is that cool enough?" You pleaded. You knew your secret was boring, but at least you said something.
"Okay, you have to show me that sometime," Mirio awed.
"Me too!" Nejire giggled. "Tamakiiii. It's always the quiet ones that have something to hide," she insinuated.
"Ah, not really. I'm kinda boring."
"Come on, let him think a second. These are hard to come up with! Nejire, I'm sure you have one since you're the one who came up with this game in the first place," you said. She rolled her eyes.
"Fine. You know Shinsato Ko? The guy from general studies in our year? I went to middle school with him. We dated for three years as young teenagers," she admitted.
You and Mirio gasped. "Whaaaat? How did we never know this?" He exclaimed. She folded her arms and nodded her head.
"I know, I know. I'm just so mysterious. You know nothing of me." She looked over at Tamaki again. "Tamaki, I'm giving you one last chance to tell us a secret. If not, we're moving onto another game. It's okay if you can't think of one," she smiled sweetly.
He paused for a moment. "I can't think of one. Sorry."
A mischievous grin appeared upon Nejire's face. "Well then. New game. Everyone HAS to answer this question. Honestly."
"What is it?" You all three asked in unison.
"You have to say the name of your crush!" She announced. The blood drained from Tamaki's face.
