Luna Lovegood x Reader: Fireworks

It was almost time to set them off. You were currently setting up pre-fourth of July fireworks at your house. Some of your friends from Hogwarts were going to come as well and you wanted to impress them. Especially a certain quirky Ravenclaw girl. Luna loved fireworks. Especially weird kinds. One of her favorites she had told you the other day in the post, was a certain type of Gluebert Blow Wormflies. You had no idea what they were. But you bought some that were on special from the daily market. You were just testing one when your mother runs up to you calling your name and distracting you from your intricate work. Causing the wormfly to explode in a series of different colors, but also causing golden gel to fall from the sky and land everywhere. "Mom!" You complained. "Sorry y/n, it's just that we found out that your father invited Xenophilius to stay the night with us tonight. They'll be arriving at 6. That made you drop your wand, "L-l-luna's coming?" You asked. Your mother smiled and nodded. Causing you to promptly lose consciousness. 

When you awoke you had a cold rag over your fore head and Luna was holding your right hand while rubbing your stomach. "Oh, y/n you're awake." As usual Luna didn't blush or show any form of affection for you. You had planned on impressing her with the wormflies, but you hadn't even gotten in good practice at freezing their exploding golden drops. Apparently when the wormflies exploded they released golden tears. And that was the gel that had fallen on you before. You were supposed to freeze the wormflies before exploding them. But you had to freeze right between the thin crevices in their bodies to freeze them correctly. If you got to much frost on them, they wouldn't explode, they'd just get launched in they sky and fall back down. And if you put to little frost, gel would fall rather than jewels. You blinked a few times at Luna. She had released your hand and was now watching you quizzically. She did this often but it made you blush more red each time. 

"Hey, Luna." You said. 'Hey'. Hey? You must sound like you didn't care at all. Luna simply smiled that beautiful smile that lit up the room. 

"The others have already came. We're all just waiting on you for the fireworks." She said,her words laced through the air with delicacy and grace. A light and airy tone to them. You fell in love with her voice every day. She grabbed your arm and pulled you off the couch and outside. 

"Just in time, we were about to start without you." Ginny said as we came out. 

"Oh, I forgot to do something, go ahead and..." A firework interrupted you. "Start..." you sighed. You walked quickly over to the wormflies only to notice they had all been frozen and pulled in to place for you. Luna walked up slowly behind you. 

"You got wormflies?" She asked. You looked down. 

"Yes, you said they were your favorites." You said your face more red than ever. She kissed you on the cheek. 

"Thank you." She whispered. Then as if on a timer the wormflies released into the sky, and hand in hand you and Luna watched them together. You looked down at her wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her. A warm and passionate kiss, filled with nothing but love.

And somewhere in le background George snickers, "Eh, Freddy, look at..." But his voice failed when he saw Fred making out with Sparkle. George rolled his eyes. "Really?" Then he chuckled to himself. "I am the love whisperer."
