"Charlie, where are we going?" You asked. You loved surprises and ever since you let it slip to Charlie, he'd made you a surprise every year on your birthday. This year was your last year at Hogwarts and Charlie was so scared that he would never see you again after this. But you had a surprise for him this time.
"I can't tell you Y/n. Don't you know that already?" He asked teasingly.
He grabbed you hand and walked you carefully out of the common room. He interlaced your fingers in his and it seemed like he was walking more slowly than he usually did.
"Hurry up won't you Charlie?" You urged.
Finally he stopped you and took both your hands in his. It had felt like forever until he stopped and untied your blindfold. He looked at you as you opened your eyes and looked around. Three dragons were around you. Each of them glowing in three bright colors.
"Charlie they're beautiful." You breathed.
"I hoped you'd like them." He still held your hand even though you walked no further.
"Come on, there's more." He told you tugging your hand. You walked with him, still in awe at the presence of the dragons.
In the middle of them were four dragon eggs.
"Charlie. Why would you take their babies?!" You asked alarmed.
"I didn't, I found these guys a few months ago. I never moved them an inch."
You smiled at him and then you saw an egg shake. You gasped, "Charlie I think they're hatching!"
"No way!" The two of you crouched down beside them.
The first to pop out was a brilliant bright green. The sun was going down and in the dark it flowed even brighter along with the older dragons. One of them, a bright purple came up behind you. "Eh, Y/n..." Charlie warned you.
You lifted the baby dragon up to it's mother and you could tell he was a boy.
The mother picked it up gently in its mouth and set it before her friends. Two others hatched, one pink and the other green, both girls. The last one still didn't move. "Charlie do you..."
"Never doubt Y/n just be patient with 'em" he told you. You squeezed his hand in thanks and he smiled down at you.
When you were starting to lose hope, the last egg shivered. It rocked back and forth and then it broke and a brilliant purple dragon burst out. The mother dragon walked over and you handed it to her.
You watched the glowing dragons with a wide smile, happy that all four hatched. Not one bad egg in a large batch for dragons.
You slipped your arms around Charlie's waist and hugged him gently, he put an arm around you, rubbing your arm gently.
Charlie's POV
She hugged me every time I surprised her, and every time it gave me the same pouring heart and burning face. Still, after 8 years she had no idea what she made me feel. I wanted to tell her before we left Hogwarts. But words weren't my strong suit. So I turned towards her and hugged her tightly, then I did something I never dared do with her. Of course I'd kissed a girl before her. But I hadn't wanted to ruin my friendship with her. I kissed her forehead and she looked up at me with a huge smile on her face.
"Charlie Weasley did you plan this?"
"Not at all, Love."
"Well this is the best surprise you've ever given me."
Then-this is the best part and it may be a bit of a groaner for some, but she kissed me. Full on the lips making my heart pound even harder and faster.
