h/h= Hogwarts house

Sirius giggled silently from behind the door as he waited. He peeked in and saw you, standing alone in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class. You needed some extra help and was waiting for Professor Eugenia to come help you.

You bounced on your feet, whistling. Then suddenly, from out of no where a bucket of pink paint spilled on your head from above, getting in your mouth and eyes and staining your h/h robes. Again? You thought, your eyes stinging. Both from the paint and your tears. These pranks had been happening more and more often in the past month than ever. Who hated you so much? You ran out of the classroom dripping paint all over the floor with your hands covering your face. You sped right past the laughing figure at the door, not even recognizing it's form, into the nearest girls bathroom: Moaning Myrtle's.

You hadn't realized who you bumped into when you ran out, but it happened to have been James Potter. His shoulder now stained pink from the paint, he watched you go. Then looked to where you had run from; the Defense classroom, where Black was cracking up.

James stormed up to him in a rage. "What... did... you... do?" He hissed.

Black wiped tears from his eyes, took one look at James and released a new set of laughs. "I-i just-oh man." He said between laughs. James waited with his hands on his hips. Black suddenly realized James was serious (lol), and he looked James right in his hazel eyes.

"I just dumped a bucket of pink paint on Y/n!" He smiled. James bit his lip, pained. He never argued with Sirius, but this time he'd crossed the line. James hadn't told anyone about his crush on Y/n. Not even Sirius and Remus. He hit Sirius with his small potions book. "Ow! What the bloody hell was that for?" Sirius asked, the glow faded from his blue eyes. James' were conflicted, but stern.

"Why do you keep doing these awful things to Y/n? What'd she ever do to you?" His voice was increasing and Sirius could tell people were starting to watch.

Sirius faked a smile. "What d' ya mean Jamesy, I was just pulling an innocent prank."

"But you keep doing them! You've crossed a line Sirius. I need you to come back please."

Sirius scowled. "A line, James? Really? You sound like McGonnagall."

James' face twitched. "At least I know when to stop!"

"At least I know how to treat friends!" Sirius roared in defense, storming away from James. Leaving the black-haired boy staring off after his best friend.

"James wha-" Peter tried to ask.

But James shoved him out of the way. Going towards Moaning Myrtle's. He opened the door softly and heard sobbing. Along with a strangely high pitched voice comforting the depressed girl.

"There, there, Y/n. Whoever it is doesn't know who they're picking on!" Y/n choked on her sobs. James entered the side of sinks where Myrtle was trying to hug Y/n, sitting on the floor with her knees pulled up to her chest. James bit his lip.

"Y/n?" He asked. She looked up. Her eyes went wide and she got up and fled into the last stall.

"Wait!" Myrtle stopped him, her icy hands passing through his chest. "Was it you? I didn't have anyone to stand up for me! But she does!" Myrtle's fist passed through his face, giving him the chills. She 'punched' his stomach and 'slapped' him. Seeing no other way, James walked through her, shivering. Then he tried pushing open the stall door that Y/n had pressed her back against, tears still rolling down her cheeks.

He knocked on it softly. "Y/n?" He asked.

"Go away, James, I don't want to talk to you!" She said, quietly first, then she repeated it, almost yelling. "Get out of here, just go! I don't want to hear it." Her words stung, she thought he was the one that had been doing these horrible things to her. He pursed his lips, his eyes burning.

"Didn't you hear her, she said get out." Myrtle ordered, trying to push him. He took a regretful glance back at the stall and ran out.

You peeked out of your stall. "Is he gone?" You asked Myrtle.

"Yes." She answered and you pushed the tears on your face away. Getting a paper towel to clean off your face. James coming just proved he had been the one to target you. You had had a feeling, but refused to believe it. Your feelings for James had blinded you from the truth. Someone must have told him about your crush on him, so he tried to get you to stop liking him with the stupid pranks.

You bit your lip until it bled, trying not to cry anymore. "It's okay to cry, Y/n." Myrtle said, and you did. For a long time, with your only friend, the ghost girl in the bathroom.

James ran up to Gryffindor tower, wishing he could apparate, so that no one could see the pain etched on his face and the tears threatening to come spilling out of his eyes. He went in and didn't see Sirius, so he flopped down on his bed, drawing his invisibility cloak over him, he cried silently. He lost his best friend and his long-term crush in a day. Suddenly he felt a crushing pain on his back.

He yelped and Peter hopped off of him. "Oh sorry James! I didn't know you-wait, were you crying?" Peter asked in disbelief. James looked away, pushing the tears away.

"Why were you on my bed Peter?" He asked changing the subject. Peter smiled a little.

"It's okay to cry, James. I do." He rubbed James' back, offering some of his chocolate frogs. James sniffed and took one.

"Thanks Peter!" Peter smiled, grateful to be the one helping for once.

Sirius sat on a bench out in the autumn rain, knowing James would probably be in the common room. And he couldn't face his friend again. Sirius never cried. Not anymore. But when the rain started, it was like the sky was crying for him, and he couldn't help but let loose a few silent drops. Someone came to him from behind and he wanted to run and hide in shame, but instead, not knowing how to react, he just pretended he didn't hear you coming.

"Sirius?" You asked.

He looked up at you, startled that it was you. "Y-y/n?" Her eyes were red and puffy. She sat down beside me and sniffed a little, leaning into me and a wave of guilt washed over me. Why had I been so mean to her? James was right, she didn't deserve it. I pushed her away, and she looked at me, her h/l h/c hair wet from the rain.

Sirius's pov

"I'm sorry." I whispered, I couldn't remember the last time I said those words. She stared at me.

"For what?" A new wave of sadness washed over me and I was thankful for the rain hiding my tears.

"Everything!" I said choking on my sobs and she just moved closer to me and threw an arm around me, my long black hair whipping around.

She hugged me to her, crying with me. "I don't care." She said. "It's not your fault." I pulled away from her warm embrace again. The rain had slowed to a drizzle now.

"What do you mean?" I asked and her expression turned into one of confusion as well.

Your pov

"What do you mean what do I mean? James did it! Not you." Sirius' eyes widened.

"No. No, it wasn't. It was me. Y/n I did it because I-" He stopped and you waited patiently, your hands in your lap. "Because I like you, and I didn't know how to react to that, I've never really. I don't know." He looked down, torn. You smiled softly at him. So this was what it was all about. You felt bad for talking to James that way. But right now you were focused on Sirius. He just didn't know his own feelings. He was the one trying to make them go away. You hugged him again, longing for him to hug you back.

"I don't mind." And he hugged you back, stroking your head gently.

I might make a second part for this one. Just saying. Requests are always open if you want to make one! ~Stuck In A Book
