Remus Lupin x Reader: Shy

"Y/n, come on please!" Lily begged. 

"Lily, no. I'm not going to ask Remus to be my valentine!" You told Lily for the hundredth time. 

"Merlin, Y/n, it's a wonder you were sorted into Gryffindor in the first place." Lily said shaking her head. 

You knew it was too. You were the most shy Gryffindor, maybe even the most shy in the whole school. You couldn't talk to boys no matter who they were. Well, except one. 

"Hey Y/n, hey Lily." Severus came up from behind the two of you. 

"Hi Severus." You said. Lily nodded to him. 

"What're you talking about?" He asked. 

Lily told him from the other side of you, "The moon." She said with a wink. 

Severus nodded. The three of you had code names for almost everyone you knew. 'The moon' was Remus' code name. 

The three of you also had no secrets from each other. Well except Severus and you. The two of you were just slightly closer than either of you were with Lily. 

For example, you were the only one who knew who Severus liked. Lily thought he liked some Slytherin girl we didn't know. 

"How's it with water flower?" You asked Severus. 

He shrugged, "She still doesn't really know my feelings exist." 

Lily smiled at him, "Of course she knows. You're such a sweet boy Severus, any girl would be lucky to have you." 

"Really?" Severus asked hopefully.

"Yes, you're a great friend." Lily shut him down unknowingly.

Severus' smile faltered, but he covered well. If you didn't know, you would never have guessed. 

"Hello, Lily flower!" Called an extremely arrogant voice from behind the three of you. You froze in nervousness, praying to everything it was only him. 

"Haha, you have no chance James." Called his best friend from further behind. 

You didn't glance back, Lily was getting nervous. "Come on, guys we gotta get out of here." You knew she secretly liked the attention James gave her, but being the good friend she was she didn't want you or Severus to get jealous. 

She was bouncing on the balls of her feet. Severus was glaring daggers at James and you were frozen to the spot. 

"Sorry guys, talk to you later." She said before bolting down the hallway. 

"Evans!" James called at the same time as Severus called, "Lily!" 

They both looked at each other before running after her. Leaving you stuck with Black, Pettigrew and Lupin behind you. 

They walked up to you and you stared intently down at the floor. "We finally got her alone guys." Sirius' deep husky voice said. 

You didn't risk the glance up, your gaze stayed glued to the hallway. 

"What's your name?" A small squeaky voice asked. You recognized it as the voice of Peter. 

Your voice wouldn't work. "Is she okay?" Remus asked worriedly. 

"I don't think we did anything." Sirius said his voice a little shaky. He nudged Peter, "Do something you're the least intimidating." 

You raised your gaze up to their chest level, slowly bringing your eyes up to a pair of hazel ones. Ones you'd seen many times, when you watched him in all your classes, or saw him disappearing at night with the other three boys or stared at him when he studied or read muggle books. The eyes of Remus Lupin.
