Remus Lupin x Reader: Nicknames

Ever since you were little you'd been best friends with Sirius. When James and Remus came along, you were jealous. How come it was so easy for Sirius to make friends and not you? But Sirius introduced you, James was very friendly and Remus was shy. But eventually they all warmed up to you, the 4 of you have been best friends ever since. In your 2nd year, you even brought a 5th into your group, Peter Pettigrew. He was a cutie and he followed James around every where, so the 4 of you took him in. That's how the Marauders came to be. 

The 5 of you were hanging out by the lake underneath the Waving Willow, sister to the Whomping Willow and the Weeping Willow. You were seated between James and Sirius. The 5 of you were playing truth or dare. 

"Truth or dare Honeybee." Sirius teased. 

You wrinkled your nose and slapped his arm, "Don't call me that, truth." 

"Aw, c'mon Sugar, not gonna do a dare?" James provoked. 

You stuck your nose in the air. "No." You turned to Sirius. 

"Is it true...that you have a crush on someone?" He asked, all the boys leaned forward. 

You closed your eyes so that you didn't give any hints. "Maybe." You said and you couldn't keep the smile from your voice. 

James poked your side, "Aw, little Y/n's gotta crush!" 

You slapped his hand. "Hey!" 

"Who is it Potato Princess?" Sirius laughed. 

"Now that's just weird you...pickley poo." 

Sirius chuckled, "Don't Y/n. Leave the nicknaming to us." 

"Well anyways, Remus truth or dare?" You turned to Remus and noticed he had walked away. "Where'd he go?"

Later that day you, Peter, James and Sirius headed back to the common room laughing. But you were just worrying about Remus. The common room was empty. You stopped laughing and put a hand on Sirius' forearm. "Where is Remus? Seriously guys, I think we should find him." 

"I'll check the common room," Peter squeaked. 

Then music came out of nowhere and you saw James put his wand on the desk, "James." The music was lively like an Irish tap dance. James took one of your arms and Sirius your other. 

"Lighten up Y/n. Remmy'll come back." Sirius said and he took your other arm from James. 

He was a horrible dancer, but it was fun because you weren't very good either. 

He spun you into James and James started dancing with you. When Peter came back down, Sirius took the smaller boy and started dancing with him. 

You threw your head back laughing and James smiled. These boys sure knew how to make you forget.

You woke up the next day in your bed, light streaming through the red curtains. It was a Hogsmeade day. You jumped out of bed excitedly to grab your clothes and get ready to meet the boys. James and Sirius always slept in and Peter couldn't go due to a bad D.A.D.A grade. That left you and Remus some alone time. You couldn't wait to talk to him. Your heart fluttered a little just remembering his handsome face. 

You rushed out, grabbing your magic bag so you could buy some candy or joke products to prank James and Sirius. 

You rushed out but to your surprise, Remus wasn't waiting for you on the couch like he usually would on Hogsmeade mornings. Where is he, you thought. 

You took a seat on the couch to wait for him and eventually fell asleep. James woke you up at midday. "Y/n, how'd you get down here, Sirius carried you up last night."

"I-uh, I was waiting for Remus. He wasn't here this morning." You said. 

James shrugged, "Maybe he finally got a date." 

Your heart sunk at that. "Oh, I guess." 

Sirius walked down the stairs half dressed. His tie was around his neck but not tied and his shirt was off. He was wearing shoes and pants but his hair was even more wild than usual. 

"Sirius..." You crossed your arms, "Where is your shirt?" You'd seen Sirius many times in your youth with his shirt off so it didn't faze you at all. 

Sirius shrugged and yawned, "It's hot outside anyways, let's just get to Hogsmeade." 

You rolled your eyes and ran up to the boys' room, grabbing Sirius' shirt. You ran back down and threw the shirt at him. "Today we have to find Remus. No funny business this time." You said with a pointed glare at both boys.

You spent the whole trip hopping from shop to shop to try to find Remus. When you got to the end of the lane you were feeling disheartened. "Where is he?"

James and Sirius exchanged glances. "There's something we need to tell you Y/n." James said. 

You crossed your hands, "Do you know where he is?" 

They shook their heads. "No, but we know why we can't find him. It's kinda why we keep distracting you." 

You waited with your eyebrows raised and your arms crossed. "We should get a drink." Sirius suggested and you and James followed him to the Hogshead.

After 3 butterbeers you had got Sirius and James to tell you that Remus had a huge crush on you and during truth or dare when you admitted you had a crush, he might've thought it was James or Sirius and got upset. 

That gave you a better idea of where he was and you ran out of the Hogshead, leaving James and Sirius in the dust. 

You headed up to the Astronomy tower, breathless from all the flights of stairs you sprinted up. Inside, you found a tired Remus staring out at the grounds. 

You approached cautiously. "R-remus?" 

He looked over at you. He tried for a smile, "Oh, hey Y/n." 

You went to sit beside him and pulled your knees up to your chest. "So..." 

"They told you huh?" He asked, a blush creeping up his cheeks. 

"Well, yeah. I wouldn't stop bugging them about trying to find you. Is that really why you left?" You asked. 

"Yeah. I mean, I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to be friends with you. I just always hoped for something more." 

"Is that a question...." You lead. 

Remus looked over at you, "Wait really? Are you saying you like me?" 

You blushed a little, "Well, yeah. Didn't you see me trying so hard not to look at you during that question. And I mean you were gone by the next part, but I turned to you in the end just to see if you had a crush." You laughed awkwardly. 

Remus placed a soft hand on your cheek, your breaths matched his and before he kissed you, he looked nervously at your lips then up at your eyes as if asking for permission. Then he kissed you, gently and passionately. When you pulled away you heard fake sobs coming from behind you. 

"Our little duck's growing up." Sirius said, using James' sleeve to wipe fake tears from his eyes. 

Remus calmly turned towards the teasing boys, "Your turn. When are you two gonna get together? The whole school knows- " 

Sirius came up and clamped a hand over Remus' mouth. "Shh Remus, she doesn't know." 

Then the four of you burst into laughter and you walked out together, arms over each others shoulders.
