Me and Brother Enoch finally make it to the Silent City. This place always creeps me out. I shiver at the thought of having to go down there. But I get to see my sister so that's an up. I then follow Brother Enoch down the soireling stairs of death. At least that's what Jade calls them. A few minutes later we are inn the conference room. I see Jade and automatically run and give her a hug.
You’re okay?
I ask being the protective sister that I am.
I’m fine but what about you?
She says picking up one of my hands, that I forgot to heal.
of course, Jade moves her right hand to mine, drawing the curves of ink with her single finger. watching her do her work, I notice the way she concentrates, the way her eyebrows furrowed, her lips in a thin line, her cheek bones tense, as her hand moves perfectly over my wrist with the healing rune.
For some reason, even though I’m not her parabatai, the runes seems ten-times as strong as normal. Maybe it was even stronger with a parabatai.
“You ok?”
I ask her.
“Am I the one that has bloody hands? I don’t think so.”
She gives me one of her smirk smiles, that remind me of dad. I never knew they had the same smile… and yet this is the smile I’ve always been determined to find when things are tough.
“are you ready my awesome Aries?”
She lifts her eyebrows up and down, while continuing her crazy smile.
I give a small laugh.
“yeah, I’m as ready as a kickass ‘samaria’ can get.”
I say this, quoting with my hands on ‘samaria- remembering Jade using it to describe me as a shadowhunter warrior.
She gives me a laugh, before moving her hand on my shoulder.
behind us is brother Nashotah.
come on children. Come to the center of the room, and the silent brothers before you will give you the sword; Jade you will be first.
Jade nods and goes to stand in the middle of the voyance rune.
Nashotah moves to her, and hands her the long sword.
I can feel her body tense from the power it held, forcing whatever the Silent brother asks of her.
Your first of questions is…. What did the person that spoke to you look like? Do you know who it was?
I find myself being pushed back from the circle of brothers, trapped away from my sister…
Blessed for my abilities to hear what happens in her head, I know what to wait for.
“I have no idea who it was…. He was wearing a long, charcoal cloke…. A hood covered his face.”
How old did he seem to be?
“I don’t know… he sounded about…. 30- or early 40’s… it was kind of hard to tell.”
I feel her tense, and let out a wince of pain…. Feeling it crawl up my own arm.
What did the man in the cloke say to you?
I could feel the swords stabbing pain move through her with force…. She wasn’t ready to tell them…. She wasn’t ready to tell me.
“He um…” she let out a cry of pain; that was enough to get my feet moving to her, but moved back just as quickly by four brothers. Dang you.
We can hear you, you know.
