At the LA Institute
Third POV: "Come on! We have to go now...!" Julian calls from inside; Magnus was waiting patiently by the LA institute, his son Rafael beside him. His Husband was currently at the outskirts of the Cementry, waiting for their arrival, along with Clay, Simon and Isabelle. Alexander was not aware of Rafael coming along. he himself didn't mind having his son with him, but Alexander was very anxious at the idea of Rafael being apart of this mission. As he always says 'it's too dangerous'. As worried as Alexander was, Magnus felt that Rafael was ready for battle. He was ready for his big moment just like the other shadowhunters before him. It pained him, for Rafael was second, yet oldest son, but he knew from experience with other young men, such as Will Herondale, and the boy who came from him, in addition to the helping of Clary's mother and so forth- Magnus knew there was nothing to change his son's fate. It would happen eventually.
"We are coming... the children are trying to take me down, so I have to strap them against their will!" Magnus simply couldn't help the smile the spread across his face at the sound of Emma's voice calling down from above.
"Hm.. should we walk in, dad?" Rafael said with an edge of amusement in his concerned tone and smile.
"I think they will make it... but I do have a zapping interest of sudden gaiety to enter a deparing situation... of which it sounds to be."
Rafael, as always just looks at his father with a blank, but smiling look of confusion, followed by a laugh and that Magnus always adored.
They both walk in, looking up the stairs at the sight of Julian holding the edge of the railing, looking down the hall.
Julian hears the sound of footsteps from bellow, and faces down towards the odd pair, with apologetical expression.
"Sorry Magnus, Raf.... Emma is, well, determined to keep the children here."
"Have you tried to stop her?" asks Rafael.
"Yes." Julian answers with a defeated sigh.
"She's relentless."
As if disproving his point, Emma stops into view, a young child with straight blond hair and blue-green eyes, wrapped around her arm in a tight squeeze, as though the ground were lava- her feet on top of her mothers.
"Please don't leave me here again....! I don't want to babysit, mom." Emma looks up in defeat, then down to her daughter.
"Sophie, you are too young to go out there, and you won't be alone... Caterina said she would baby sit and watch over the institute."
"But she's blue!"
"And so is Max.. and you like him." Julian answers for emma. The look on her face was growing impatient. Julian steps forward, taking Sophie from Emma, holding her by the shoulders in a very fatherly manner. The look that Emma gave her husband was one that Magnus knew well, and was not given by many; it was one of pure love, and gratefulness. One of experience, one of knowledge and trust.
Sophie slumps her shoulders in such a dramatic way, magnus couldn't help but smile, remembering Max doing the same only a few years back. She gives her father her puppy dog eyes.
"Ok... daddy."
Julian gave his little girl a hug, then stands up to face the hallway once more.
"Come on! We are leaving..!"
Footsteps suddenly start to pound through the upper level. Julian simply turns to emma, reaching his hand out for hers. She takes it with a smile.
They descend the stairs, and at the very bottom, Julain gives his wife a soft, but passionate kiss.
